Going to try a few Monster.com positions shortly. Hopefully something strikes within the next few weeks.

Xander- have you looked into some of the technical contracting firms in that area? I know the IT field is hurting all over but it would be a way to get your foot in the door on a contract basis and show the company "your stuff" We have people calling ahead all the time and emailing their paperwork and many times they can be placed right away upon arrival. My area is in a different field though but it's worth a try if you haven't done so already.

No specifics to share, but Bend and Deschutes County have been the fastest-growing areas in Oregon for the past few years. Better to move there than anywhere else in the state right now...

Bend is growing quite well - wife is transferring out there due to a new store in her company opening in the city (in the Old Mill Mall district).

Point me in the direction? I'm having little luck finding such companies online. Monster is useless, it turns out, but I've found a few more positions I'll be applying for in this week's Bend Bulletin.

Yeah, Bend rules, Xander. I grew up in OR, & hate most of it. But if I could live anywhere, it'd be Bend. It's great. I'll call my bro tonight, see if he can find anything out. Also, when you get there? Go to Mcmennamins brewpub & eat, I mean drink one of their Darth porter's. It's unreal.

There is an urban myth about the Deschutes River in that it is the only river in the world to flow North. It's hogwash! Don't believe it. And there are no such things as jackalopes!
