Tony defenders, whether they be sincere or trolls, are using the same argument that the Nazis tried to use.

During the Nuremberg trials, the wise people judging could tell the difference between a farmer and a Nazi.

The Nazis on trial tried in vain to use the argument that they were just ‘regular guys’...

    They were hung anyway.

Jesus used illustrations to drive a point home and to teach others. For those that don't see a problem with what Tony did, I'm hoping this helps. This will be sort of like the Family Fued game.

We surveyed 100 people in the world. A man is wearing tailor fit dress pants. He approaches you and attempts to share an encouraging thought from the Bible. What do you think about that?

    • I am listening, you are in shape and care about that body God gave you, more power to you! - 57
    • No thanks, I'm not interested in any religion - 43
    • You CAN'T be a follower of Christ, you are wearing tailor fit dress pants! - 0

We surveyed 100 people in the world. A woman is wearing spandex while out for a jog and is in her cool down stage. She approaches you and attempts to share an encouraging thought from the Bible. What do you think about that?

    • I am listening. You are a woman of God since you respect your body and take care of it, you go girl! - 64
    • No thanks, I'm not interested in any religion - 36
    • You CAN'T be a follower of Christ, you are wearing spandex! - 0

We surveyed 100 people in the world. An older gentleman approaches the checkout of a liquor store. He unloads a dozen bottles of expensive booze onto the conveyor belt. As the cash machine says $957.13, he makes eye contact with you and then attempts to share an encouraging thought from the Bible. What do you think about that?

    • Holy shit, this is a super expensive habit for this drunk! - 53
    • Oh my god, this old fart is going to get so shit faced this entire month! - 47
    • You MIGHT possibly be a follower of Christ - 0

Does this drive home the point how super obsessed Tony is about public image? Does he realize what he did is 1000 times worse than the first 2 examples that he has told us all are absolutely disgusting and not becoming of a Christian? No sins have been committed in all 3 examples, but who has brought the most reproach on Jehovah and his Organization in the 3 examples?

    A. Rank and File Brother

    B. Rank and File Sister

    C. Governing Body Member

This doesn’t help your position at all. Godwin’s Law. You just lost.

The Nazis on trial tried in vain to use the argument that they were just ‘regular guys’...

    I didn’t make that argument.

    @BourneIdentity:

Alrighty. Mixing Family Fued and Jesus. Pure gold.

Your entire argument is that since Tony argued some truely untenable positions in the past, let’s adopt one too, and give him a taste of his own medicine. Alright, but that falls flat with me. It’s just an emotional response to seeing him buy alcohol. The religion was/is very restrictive, and it hurts people. And you want to lash back at it. It’s much better to shake your head at the crazy tight pants talk than it is to argue he did soo much worse. Actually, you said it was 1000 times as worse as your first two examples. You are right. The first two examples were Tony’s idiocy, not serious at all. 1000 times that is also a big nothing burger.

And, look, that’s fine. I didn’t say AM wasn’t an asshole. He looks a lot like the guy that ran TreadStone. But just realize, your gripe against him is emotional, not objective.

As I’ve said, I know witness and non-witness families that have more than $1000 of alcohol in their house. If you are assuming buying 12 bottles of scotch at one time necessarily implies it will be consumed quickly as a drunkard, this is called “projection”.

What Godwin failed to realize is this, when looking for the best example of evil, in order to make a point, the Nazis play forward in history.

That taken into account, the Nazis and their deeds will forever be remembered.

Did you ever hear about the crapper rule?

John Crapper invented the toilet. So, from this comes the term crap.

And if Nazis can end a conversation, so can...

btw, the topic of Nazis starts more conversations than they end.

And the Nazi movement is alive and well.

The proof is in the pudding.

    Download the Tony video.

Walk up to your elders and play it.

    See if it’s a nothing ...

Wouldn’t that be something to hear Tony was publicly reproved for a time due to this? He could not partake in a broadcast or morning worship, Haha. For what offense you ask? Gluttony. I did some research and it definitely fits. It’s a greedy attitude towards food or drink. I’ve known many elders who have stretched things to justify a judicial committee to out someone.

Just imagine world stock supplys if every JW went out and bought 12 bottles of scotch. 102 million bottles.

at $80 per bottle, JWs would spend $688,000,000 on booze. That’s a lot of Kingdom Halls that could be built.

I guess this video is more poignant to one's who have felt the wrath of the WTS henchmen .

Those that have only "existed" in the rank and file and kept their heads down ,while still in, probably can't see what the fuss is all about.

There probably will never be a proper explanation as to why AM111 was buying that much booze ,why it had to be that expensive brand etc.

One things for sure, the WTS ,AM111 and the rest will never tell the truth , if they did it would be a first in the history of the WTS. I'd bet a bottle of "cheap" Johnnie Walker on that.
