Anyways, as if anyone needs to read that again, then repetition hopefully leads to retention.
I work in a bar, and I cut people off all the time. It's NOT worth it, and I keep an eye out on my patrons.
Lainey, I'm sure you've seen your fair share of the 'end results' of drunk driving. Doesn't matter what country you live in, drunk drivers suck!
I always wondered what happened to Lucy Sausage, after being regaled about her, a couple of years back.

Lucy is a drunken idiot that should be ordered by the judge to crawl around on all fours for the rest fo her life(with no kneepads ). I have NO sympathy whatsoever for people who have such reckless disregard for others and themselves to get behind the wheel of a car in that state.

That doesn't happen here. The pub landlords/barmen have no legal responsibility whatsoever towards how drunk a customer becomes. The worse charge he can be hit with is "Keeping a disorderly house", and for that to happen, there would have to be a full-blown riot in the pub.
Mind you, most pubs are social meeting places over here and trouble is usually confined to the fun-pubs on a Saturday night

i rarely drink outside of my home. if i'm gonna tip a few pints, then i stay home.
it isn't worth it and i dont want to ve responsible for hurting ANYONE, especially and innocent passenger in my car.
dont drink and drive, is the motto in the usa.
now there's a bit of wisdom you will hear from "worldly" people, yet NEVER hear those words in a kh.
yet, it needs to be said. to many closet drinkers, and smokers.

That said, alcohol is one of the few pleasures JW's are relatively safe to endulge themselves with. (from what I've heard English drivers are bad enough sober - is it true that folks tear along the highways at over 100km/hour over there? (typically thinking that the destination is more important than the journey)

Eng. this person is in need of help. Apparently she can't help herself. I 've spent many days in bars with my co-workers and I know the position she's in. Does this person have self-esteem? Dos she have a family? Why doesn't she get to the root of her problem? Excessive drinking is escapism, but from what?

There seems to be an awful lot of heavy drinkers amongst the JW's in WSM. Hey, I'm only a social drinker! I just socialise a lot.
Seriously most of them seem to be closet drinkers as opposed to pub boozers. They're also secretive drinkers, unlike most dubs who don't care. I think it's because there is a profound and old Methodist influence in the area. Most of the dubs are ex-methodists who were actually a very anti-alcohol religion. Seems as though old habits die hard.

I have never understood why people drink and then drive. I have definitely been known to put back a few...but even when I am drunk, I would not even THINK of driving, my friends wouldn't either...and I watch my friends and would never let them drive. It isn't about being smart, it is about common sense. You get looked down on for doing such things, even by us young kids (and some of us shouldn't drink anyway...but we are smart enough to not drive!). LW or not Lucy I hope gets the jail time she deserves. She also should not breed because she sounds defective.
