I've been here for a little over a year, and one expression that pretty much sums up what it's been like for me: "peeling the onion." Sometimes it brings tears, but every layer of delusion that is pulled away leaves a smaller and smaller onion...one day, it'll be gone

Welcome to the forum Dan76, and glad to see you are making the transition.

Thank goodness for the internet, and the access to information that would otherwise be kept from you, had you remained at the Kingdom Hall.

I can relate to that anxiety, I left 20 years ago. But it got better over time, and once I started to go back and look at particular doctrines and some carefully 'swept under the carpet' boo-boos, I was SO GLAD to be out of the organization, once and for all.

Never going back!

Hi Dan,

I've been where you're at and it does get better with time. The freedom to think and enjoy life minus the fear and guilt is worth the growing pains now. I still have to deal with the possible shunning and loss of family and friends, but I have to follow my heart and stand up for truth. I hope you can get some of the support you need here. It's great to meet up during an apostofest or other informal get together with others here. Welcome!
