luna, I agree. The Ring was eerie. I don't scare easily. But, that one got me.
Although, Athanasius, Candyman was scary. My niece and I flew to Chicago to visit my brother, and made him drive us through Cabrini Green after we saw the movie. He thought we were nuts! (After living there for 10 years, and knowing what know now, we must have been crazy!)
Tinkerbell82 mentioned "The Believer" early on in this thread. I just watched it tonight with a friend, and I would have to say that this is one of the best movies I've ever seen, very powerful. Ryan Gosling did one of the bests acting jobs I've ever seen.
I recently saw:
Minority Report. good.
The Ring. USA version.
Ghost Ship. ok.
ichi the killer (gory, not really my style but it was ok)
City of God. Violent but good film.
Taxi (french film).
