Refreshing with some current information, the project is now in effect; some congregations have been dissolved and the publishers gone to another KH. Very significant the COs are mentioning in their Tuesday talk the need of obedience even when you are faced with a relocation change. It is obvious that this is total control.
Major congregational quake in Southern California

I heard some interesting news about this from a Spanish CO. The English and Spanish congregations have been reorganized, so that every 4th congregation was eliminated in Orange County. This means 25% of the members are scrambling to join new congregations in overcrowded KHs. The savings (profit) from this raw deal is estimated at $7 million. San Diego County is next, with a similar amount of loot for Mother. Each of these counties makes up about 10% of California's population, and about 1% of the US population. So the first round of KH sales in the US could rake in hundreds of millions $$$.

Not to speak selfishly, but if it heads my way in Ohio, I'd welcome it. I hate the congregation that my wife goes to anyway, and I attend because she doesn't know I'm awake and it would utterly destroy her otherwise.
But back to the original post, yeah, mother will take care of mother.

Adding to the information, as reported the project is in full swing; I was expecting some negative feedback but the sheeps are following the instructions without much hesitation.

I wonder how they will 'sell' this to the community where the hall is being sold. Unless there are nearby halls to go to, it might appear that the JWs were pulling out of the community. Darien/Crescent Georgia (USA) has recently been informed that their congregation will be dissolved.
According to the "Articles of Association" which were voted on by 'owner' congregations a few years ago, the dissolving of the congregation sends the ownership of the hall to the WT, after all debts are cleared.
In the Crescent case, the JWs there will have to go either to Brunswick (~25 minutes) or Hinesville (~35-40 minutes through mostly wooded roads). Crescent has a lot of retired/older members. I wonder how they would go about inviting neighbors to a service when the closest hall is so far?
I have to agree with Hecce. The r&f seem to just take it in stride. When they announce it they also have a service talk encouraging everyone to take it as an arrangement of God.

OH they got it covered from all sides...if things are getting worse because of God, then GOD SCOURGES THOSE HE LOVES.
If things are worse because of persecution from outside the religion, LOOK UP YOUR DELIVERANCE IS NEAR.
Whatever you do, don't let the elders know if something in your life actually takes a turn for the better - they will churn their guts day and night until they come up with a way to make you CHEER DOWN.

I spoke with someone from Cleveland, Georgia (USA) a few months ago and their congregation was dissolved too, KH to be sold. They will have to divide up to go to different halls.

Hi dropoff!
It looks like Cleveland is just a small rural town like Darien. I wonder if there is a pattern to that?
It is also amazing to me that the friends are, for the most part, oblivious to the whole scheme. Only what happens to them or if they hear about it in their own circuit or through friends. It kind of reminds me of a made-for-TV movie from a few years ago called "V" (for 'Visitors'). The visitors were taking all the water and depopulating the planet (for food) without most people being aware of what was going on.
I'm so completely disgusted with the WT! I wish I we're more mentally separated from it. But that's hard to do after so many decades.

Shutting down these rural Congregations doesn't make any sense. The monetary gain can't offset the inconvenience and grief created by the move; this will mostly affect the elderly friends.

This is proof that the leaders know they are no longer getting new recruits from the world, at least not in the USA Canada and most Western European countries
