Oh and also, when some jws try to live some semblance of a normal life, they are accused of getting "sidetracked". Yep, can't do a thing that isn't jw-related, it seems.

the lures of this system of things

Uh-huh. I'm sure "lured" by the bewitching power of getting up at 6:00 a.m. every morning, fighting rush hour traffic to work in a high-powered, fast-paced law firm, then fighting rush hour traffic to go home, pick up the kids, make dinner, make sure homework is done, bathe kids, read stories, put kids to bed, and collapse. What a deliriously madcap existence!

Now, how did I ever fit all those meetings in????

Barr and company don't seem to realize that quoting Matthew 24:42 in support of their notions of "the end is coming soon" destroys their claim that JW leaders comprise a "faithful and discreet slave" who was appointed over all of Christ's "belongings" in 1919, since the very basis for this claim -- Matthew 24:45-47 -- obviously occurs in the sequence of Matthew 24 after verse 42. How these people can be so blazingly stupid is diagnostic of a declining cult run by senile old men whose brains are ossified.

    Excellent points, frankiespeakin!

I agree - the Society has ripped pieces of Matt 24 and Luke 21 out of sequence and thereby out of context.

Their whole interpretation is an inconsistent mess with some parts applying to 1914-1918 and other parts

applying to the End. It's arbitrary, "pick and chose" interpretation that the fossils and their thralls never question.

On the other hand, I'm happy to hear a member of the Governing Body complain openly - and officially-

about the state of the organization. It puts the lie to any claims about a "spiritual paradise" - and it opens the

way to a mass realization of how the organization is rapidly becoming just another religion. It's progress.

We are getting side-tracked due to the fact that the end has not come yet.

    I'm eternally side-tracked.

You know, it's funny: most of the "nice" elders who were more "loving" were those that I viewed as not taking the preaching work very seriously. You know, the happy elder with kids going to college and a nice warm house who puts in his 8 to ten hours of service a month, usually in a van eating a donut. It was a strange predicament for me -- a serious pioneer/MS dub -- to respect these men who obviously weren't putting their "all" into the ministry and yet were such nice fellas.

Seriously, I've noticed this for years.

except this year it ended on time.

If only Armageddon could be so punctual.

Actually, this information is about the boringest "secret" I have ever heard. Imagine - the drones, who have been waiting for the end every day for 124 years, have finally begun to get their own lives. And the management can't seem to figure out why they are giving up.

What would that religion be without a bloodthirsty god holding the human race hostage??
