Actuall, I never got a sheparding call in the five years that I was there. Even when I was pointing out lots of contradictions in their teachings and asking for explanations. They just told me to stop asking those kinds of questions or I could be considered appostate. "Why? Becuase I'm smart enough to see flaws in your logic and human enough to demand an explanation?"
Why do the watchtower studies have no doctrine anymore?

if you have a copy of the December 1st 2003 article, note how at the end of one of the study articles, 'could we perhaps donate more on a weekly basis, as did the eraly Christians?'
There was speculation on another thread that we could soon see a Question from Readers asking "what would be an appropriate percentage to donate on a weekly basis?". Long winded reply referring to Old Testament practises and especially the passage where Jesus points out that the Pharisees tithe the herbs of their gardens and "do well". Bingo: Watchtower Tithing!

That's a great topic.
When I was in, sometimes I wondered why the magazines would bring hard-to-read topic such as prophecies for a public who wouldn't like us to be even at their doors to begin with.
So, in my struggle with my faith in this religion, sometimes I thought it would be a good idea to have two types of publications: one for internal comsumption and another for public comsumption. Now, I see how ridiculous that would be!
And it seems they're doing it!
