I noticed Reed shut up pretty quickly. How does basically stating beliefs 'cheapen' them? Or was it he just realised how dumb their beliefs actually are.

Only trust official information about Jehovah's Witnesses; the above link will give you plenty, and it will explain my beliefs, regardless of what organization they fall under. Thank you for your interest, but i cannot bring myself to discuss this here.
Isn't he basically saying I belive whatever I'm told? Scary.

What an interesting discussion WolfGirl and handled with great dignity considering your own sad experiences.

I have an original script from the original 'Star Wars' that you can have if you waat it. Email me your address ( if you trust me...lol ) at [email protected].

    Best regards - HS

This is so sad because I remember my past and I know how they must be feeling. Nobody was attacking them personally. If anything, they started calling Wolfgirl the "apostate" name. Yet they perceived the whole discussion (and it was a very civil discussion) as an attack by Satan.

It was so awful to see it from this perspective. I'm not saying that the discussion was awful or that Wolfgirl was awful. What was awful was to see the cognitive dissonance take over, and at that moment I relived the same fear my doubts once stirred. They started out so sure that they had the truth and they were ready to take on anyone, even a Satanic apostate, only to finally play the persecution card and exit the discussion.

They left the rest of the board completely stymied at their behavior. But if you read the whole thread you can clearly see the mind control occurring. It's scary to think I was once that way.

Thanks Wolfgirl! I read almost all of it. It was funny the way some of them kept trying to get the others to shut up...LOL! I believe they said something along the lines of "we will be willing to discuss this with you at the door"....sure ya will!

Good job presenting balanced arguements btw!

Thank you, guys. It's been really interesting for me to participate in this debate. I have been wanting to get into it with some JWs for a while now...just to see their response and hopefully plant some seeds of doubt. JWs around here won't talk to me...funny that.

HS, I will send you an email.

    Wolfgirl,

When the non-JW posters brought up the question of how women were treated, you forgot to mention that women have to wear napkins or dish towels on there heads in order to lead a prayer! Now that would have really amazed them!

Wolfgirl: You're being nominated for Best Witness of the Year, Informal category. With just a few months left before the winners are determined, I doubt anyone can top this.

Swan - GREAT idea, I'll cast my vote for Wolfgirl

I had troubles getting to the thread but eventually found it. I could hear the dubs turning through their 'Bible' dex minds before spitting out yet another (overused) 'verse'. Give me a break and answer the question, not spit out a verse!

HEY here's one - if I was never a JW and yet don't agree with their views, does that make me 'worldly' or an 'apostate'? Just wondering.
