There seems to be almost an equal number of men and women who profess to be of the 144000 destined for heaven.

I wonder if there will be an equal number of women of heaven since, as you know, Jehovah is an impartial god, and so therefore women are worth only 60% of what men are worth.

"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the Lord by thy estimation. And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels. And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. And if it be from sixty years old and above, if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female, ten shekels" (Leviticus 27:1-7)

Does the WT society really believe that, If so why don't they ever depict women in heaven.

I have wondered about that. My thoughts have been that:

Nothing dirty can go to heaven, but according to the bible, women are dirty when having their periods, and a little afterwards. So they cannot go to heaven.

Then again, It would not make sense to have their periods in heaven, since they cannot reproduce there.

If they cannot reproduce there, it would make no sense to have sex differences in heaven, so all the silly laws for gender behavior would make no sense in heaven.

You would become like angels and think only about Jehovah and help him kill all humans in Armaggeddon.

Oh, well. Just my thoughts driving me crazy.

oxnardhampster--- You are not alone there. I realized what the bible said there as well , " These are the ones that did not defile themselves with women." Now what I got was a bunch of lame explanations for it such as ----- " what it really means is they are not associated with the whore like apostates." The apostle John often did use a comparison of , harlots = apostates or unfaithful christians , virgin= spiritually pure in relationship to christianity .

What that scripure doesn't say is whore or harlot so I do have to give their explanation a IMO it is refering to a whole souled service to God and not being divided by worldly persuits much like a family man would be . It also rules out women as being qualified .

This is another thing that really bothered me growing up in the borg...I felt that women had know say in the cult...Have you ever heard the saying"Behind a good man is a good WOMEN" Well for me at that time it was my dad... I remember my first 'stir of the pot in the borg'....I wanted to be the person who held the mic.We had recieved 2 new mics for the hall. Two of the regular boys were not doing it (or aloud) any more. So I went to the 'Elders on my own and asked if I could do it.....Of course the answer was NO.......I called them on it and got in big trouble from them......but oh well, I made my point at a very young age.....still to this day, when I see my young childhood friends that arent in the borg anymore, they always comment on that....I mean really......why could a female not stand there with her dress on and hand a mic to someone.....They actually held service a 1/2 hour later because they were too busy giving me sh** in the basement of the hall on how I embarssed an elder in front of everyone asking..WHY the hell not? Is it bacause I am a girl?....needless to say, it never went over well but I made my point loud and clear.........by the way, does anyone know if this rule has changed? would be interested in knowing if a women could do it now......

I think the mic handling thing is more about training young men to take some responsibility in the congregation . I'm sure they had no problem letting you clean the bathroom or vacuum the carpet or something mundane . You did have a point tho , if women are expected to do feild service and answer at the meetings then there shouldn't be a problem on handling the mics .

    Heathen,

if women are expected to do feild service and answer at the meetings then there shouldn't be a problem on handling the mics .

I see two options: They see the mikes as phalic symbols, or that it would allow women to make a choice.

The bable says that women should not teach, but they are teaching more when they go up front, since they are demonstrating ways to brainwash and sell magazines, than by passing the microphone.

    Go figure.

Faoran--- That's a good point . I don't see how anyone with any intelligence can sit thru that . It's like everyone has to pretend to over hear a conversation for it to work in the first place . Give me a friggen break here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
