I prefer liquid detergent because it doesn't leave white streaks on my dark clothes. We use All Free because we are allergic to most other detergents.
My hubby does the laundry.

Actually sometimes I have dry cleanables that I have found if I handwash them with shampoo, they come out nicely without the need to dry clean. Depends of course on the item though.
