AOC is actually disclosing what they are planning on doing. Now that the Senate doesn't have the majority, if the legislation of impeachment and disqualification reaches the Senate and the vote goes 50/50, then the VP Harris can vote for the bill to pass and Trump is done.

This is what all the riots were about. This is what the restriction on social media is all about. This is what the elections were all about.

It was actually a well thought out plan that had been in the works for a very long time.

The only chance Trump has now is if some of the Democrats in the Senate and the House vote against the legislation of impeachment and disqualification.

    Otherwise Trump is Done!

Impeach? Nah. Arrest? Yes. For what he did to the conservative movement.

By any objective comparison, anything Trump said was milder, certainly no worse, than what many many other politicians have said, most of them on the left. They have actually called for violence and when the violence happened they claim no responsibility for it.
Trump never called for violence. If you think he did, you have been played by the media and social media companies. They took down the videos of him calling for peaceful protest and then claimed he was calling for violence and then do the same for anyone who points it out.
After their previous "fine people" hoax they have gone one further. Now they no longer take someone's words out of context in a carefully edited clip. Now they remove everything you said and claim you said something else entirely, and block / ban anyone who points out that it isn't true. The "dog that isn't barking" in this case is the lack of MSM playing any clips of Trump calling for violence. If he had, they would play it 24x7. They don't because it didn't happen.
The government should be focusing their efforts on these media companies, but of course they won't - the incoming government see them as their benefactors.
This is also an attempt to send a message to future opposition not to show up or else they will ruin their lives.
Not a very healthy political atmosphere

Like so many followers of Trump. You just can't see that the king isn't wearing any clothes. Cognitive dissonance at its best

Wannabe President Mussolinis repudiation of the horrific scenes we saw on capitol hill causing the deaths of FIVE PEOPLE

'We love you, but go home now' 🙄

    Wake up people!

There's a better than 50-50 chance that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would vote to convict President Trump in an impeachment trial, sources tell Axios

Other sources had ~20 Republican senators supporting conviction, prior to this news about McConnell. Liz Cheney, no. 3 Republican in the Senate, says she will be a definite "yes" vote on conviction.

He's not on "record" or quoted saying this, but...if McConnell wants him convicted, Trump is toast.

It looks like Trump has no bargaining power.

Trump’s biggest problem is not the Presidency. It’s his fortune. If the Trump name is toast, and every business or bank runs away from him, he’s finished!

    No you don’t what?

Minimus asked: "Do You Support Trump Being Impeached Again?"

    Tom answered: "No I don't."

Unless there is something really serious that the public doesn't know about, it strikes me as mean-spirited at this point.

I would point out though, that those on this thread and elsewhere who are judging the President's statements through the filter of 1st Amendment protections of speech are out to lunch.

I doubt if anyone will read it, but here is a decent article on the subject.

@TD: That is one opinion off course, none of which has been tested in court. High crimes and misdemeanors did have a meaning at the framing of the constitution. If you're an originalist, then you'd interpret it as such.

High crimes - activity by or against those who have special duties acquired by taking an oath of office that are not shared with common persons

Misdemeanors - a less serious offense than a felony

This was intended to show that the presidency was to be held above reproach from any criminal wrongdoing, including non-felonious conduct.

The question is whether the President did anything wrong, and it will be very hard to prove the President did so. He told people to "peacefully protest" which is legal. He's not responsible for the mob peacefully protesting within the building, as much as Bernie Sanders was not responsible for the guy trying to shoot people of congress a few years ago after he said "they're trying to kill your grandmother". If Trump is held responsible for this, so should Pelosi be responsible for it, she's the one that indicated her contempt for the plebes with the "let them eat ice cream" controversy, or the Squad is responsible for BLM protests this summer etc etc.
