How did you get into the Watchtower in the first place ? Did God call you into the Watchtower ? If not who then?

There are 6 billion people on this planet, the Society prints a book called 'Mankind's Search For God"and states that all mankind has failed in their search for God.

Because, God called this select few, way back in 1919,yes,God called this select few out of Christiandom, into the Watchtower Society?

Now God according to you,God calls you out of the Watchtower into Christendom?

I can't believe any of this,God calling people stuff. There are too many lives that are not called, only a small few have this experience. What value is there in the Ransom sacrifice if billions are left in the dark, worshipping God in a way they were brought up to believe as a product of their birth?

As to,"Why Did God Call You Out of the Watchtower?"He called you ,ask him,why you and not all the others. My response is a serious one with no malice toward you.

    Archangel,

Be Happy, remember God picked ALL of us Before the world was even made. Isn't that a nice throught, he put you in his book of Life before Human Life was made

No.....it isn't nice at all and your wrong.

I don't think it's nice at all for a person to think a loving god, who knows everything before it happens,.........would put me or others in a book of life and not others who have not even been created yet. Why in the hell bring them into the world if he knows he will eventually kill them or they will die only to come back to a life of judgement? Your god is a frickin lunatic! He set into motion the words...."let us make man" when he KNEW he would fail and there would be thousands of years of horrible pain and suffering of his creation. I absolutley detest the bible god that I do not believe exists.( i'm just not sure how I can hate something that doesn't exist)......it's the IDEA or belief I hate.

I think a lot of the posts that responded to mine have made my point for me. Thanks, DJ, for your support. The topic of how the unbelieving contingent on this forum has been making religious discussion nearly impossible is something several of us discussed at the recent "Witnesses Now for Jesus" convention, so I know I'm not alone in my feelings.

For the record, my point wasn't that only people who agree should be allowed to respond to a topic. But there are times when someone wants to talk about a religious or Bible topic. Such as in this thread, where the initial poster was desirous of discussing what he or she believed was a religious experience. For all of the unbelieving group to jump in with their "God is imaginary" rants - as they do in virtually every thread of this type - merely squelches the topic. Rather than being able to discuss the topic that the poster intended, we now have to regroup for yet another discussion of "Is there a God or not?" I've trudged through enough of that sort of thread; I'm tired of it. I wouldn't mind having a spiritual discussion with a fellow believer now and again, but all the shouting and ridicule here pretty much drowns out everything else.

And, also for the record, I don't plan on leaving the board entirely. It's too good a source of information about what the WTS is up to, and the occasional fluff thread is fun. But the sort of banter and discussion on scriptural topics I used to often enjoy here seems to have become a thing of the past. Too bad.

Besides lack of time, this thread is a good example of why you don't see me posting as much as I used to. This is quickly becoming a forum in which religion in general and Christianity in particular have no place, and only atheism and agnosticism are welcome. A person comes in and asks a faith-based question, and what happens? He gets 15 or so answers informing him that God is just a product of the human imagination,

    G'day Neon,

    Me too!

I have felt the same way. However..............(don't you love that dubism!)....there are many sincere seekers of truth you can reach. I know I have. Mrs Ozzie and I have had some wonderful experiences and meetups as a result of earnest seekers of truth who are dubs lurking on this db.

So that there is no doubt: Mrs Ozzie and I are no longer associated with the dubs because of belief. We thought we were christian then and we more than think we are now!

So...back to the question, why did God bring us out? I guess He had us in the borg and then brought us out to reveal what true freedom is. After all, we well know that being captive to the borg is poles apart from freedom's road. We also have a splendid opportunity to bear witness to what true freedom is.

    Keep doing it, dear friend.

    Cheers, Ozzie

    Madman,

You really have no way of knowing what stevieb1 had in mind when he made his post, do you? So why do you presume to chastise us?

There are a lot of unxtian comments to stevieb1 's post for one simple reason - there are more unxtians here than xtians. Unxtians have a right to express their opinions too, don't they? So what are you so troubled by?

You think you have the truth? You've got the spiritual armor? Fine - make your case and win the argument.

Isn't it inconsistent for people who feel they are "called" to be persecuted for his name's sake to whine when their irrational and unrealistic beliefs are challenged? Where is your "good cheer'? Is not your deliverance drawing nigh?

When YOU start a thread, Madman, then you can dictate how you want your ears tickled, if ear tickling is what you crave.

None of the above ,not your education ,bible knowledge ,etc. because he searches the heart and gets a readout and follows through in harmony with his written word as so aptly indicated by Jseus words that " No one comes to the son UNLESS the Father draws them. He dosn't take you out of the wt, he draws you to his son, that simple.and he remains true to his word in the process.

You mean when there was nobody there to defend something they feel is a lie?

Madman......you were set free from one organisation and still held by another.... and don't know it. You are "bound" to Jesus just like you were "bound to the Organisation. If you disagree with him or disbelieve in him.........you are toast forever. What's the difference?

All evidence you present would indicate that God is a figment of YOUR imagination.

Everything seems to point to God as being is a concept invented to control people.

As a JW did you love Jehovah or did you love God? Are they still one and the same to you? Do you still call him Jehovah? The reason I ask this: was the JW God a true God or a false God? Was he a figment of the imagination? If you still believe in him then can you prove that the JW's are wrong - perhaps God is just a little ambiguos (read artistic) vs precise?

If on the other hand you go back to zero and begin looking at all evidence and refusing to just believe stuff because it feels good then very few modern humans would ever conceive of God. What makes you believe in the "Christian God"? It has more to do with where you were born and raised than anything else - just as a sincere person born in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia is likely to believe in Allah as their God and take equal offense at being questioned by skeptics such as myself.

Are all relationships prisons? If I am married, am I a prisoner of my partner? If I join a hockey club, am I a prisoner of that club?
