LOL.. Curling is a major passion where I grew up. I would have thought everyone knew what it meant too..

I've been curling a couple of times. XJW is correct; lots of hard work. I did find that among the spectators and players who have finished, there is quite a lot of beer-drinking.

At least here at Mayflower, pretty well known by Cdn curlers as home of Colleen Jones. I'm not a fan myself, just went with a work mate a couple of times. You have to be in good shape, that's for sure!

But isn't that so true of the 'other' Canadian sports, hockey and fishing? (not that we invented fishing)

    Hey Valis..

Curling does seem to be quite the sport to get into here in Nova Scotia. Problem is there is barely any vacancies. I've tried to get my youngest son into it for 4 years..never any vacant spots...

    so I guess it's popular....

But I think it also has something more to do with the reasonable price for the season.. It was only $ 20.00 for the whole season.. Twice a week. If your on a budget you can't beat that for a kid.

My husband went curling a couple of times..as a spare.. his tearm didn't play so well and lost alot.but got to drink a lot of beer.

If you loose the winning team buys you beer... If your team wins.. you buy the looser beers...

So... rule of thumb.. if you like beerin Nova Scotia, then play to lose.

    sincerely

    Special K
