get some normal saline nasal spray (Ocean Spray is a brand name, but generic is just as good). Use as directed on the bottle.

my bottle directions say "120 calories per 8oz serving." I have to put that up my nose???

PND is the worst, it's what keeps me coughing and with scratchy throat long after a cold has subsided. What they say about snorting warm salt water through the nose is gross but it works. I've found that it doesn't even have to be salt water, I have been known to snort the water up through my nose in the shower, if only to avoid a drippy, salty, snotty mess in the bathroom sink. Alternatively, I pour a couple of shots of brandy in a cup of boiling water, honey and lemon. After I drink that, I don't care if I have a little PND.... I've never tried a commercial rinse. Didn't know they were even out there. I'm going to try that next time I get plagued with PND. Hope you feel better soon. Shoshana

I've always found Sudafed to work for the drip, but makes me feel very "druggy". Ephedra (the herb that sudafed is a copy of) does the job w/o making me feel drugged. I'm not sure if you can get it in pill form anymore (?), but I've found it in leaf (or root, or whatever it is) form at an herb shop.

Soledad: I am so sorry, I suffer from that and understand Thunder makes fun of me when I answer the phone and can't breathe LOL I use Flonase (thank you God and the pharmecutical companies) Claritin D<prefer Zyrtec but it isn't OTC) I use Saline nose when it's not real bad to wash out the allergens. I also have tried prayer and meditation...<sigh> boy it sucks

It is also important to not let it get so bad that it drains down into your chest and causes bronchitis. Hot steamy showers are great for bronchitis (be sure to breathe the vapors deeply) along with the Ocean nasal spray, and drink lots of fluids.
I had one doctor tell me to swallow two vitamin C followed by hot bath. The vitamin C were easy, but it took the whole night to drink that bath down, ugh!
Tammy (sorry, I couldn't resist that old joke)

I prefer an old fashioned remedy that comes from Britain -- it is called a hot toddy --- whisky, hot water, honey and a drop or two of freshly squeezed lemon juice -- works good and helps a little with the sleep - hope you are feeling better soon

It's easy... just get some concrete mix and a funnel. Tilt your head back and use the funnel to completely fill you sinus cavities until you fill the mix seeping down the back of your throat.
NOTE: You may have to tilt your head forward and to the sides a few times to remove any air pockets.
Once you are satisfied that you have completely filled your sinuses, use some cork plugs to plug your nostrils and then sleep on your stomach while the mix dries overnight.
Vu-Walla! No more sinus problems!
