Thanks, I'm sure it's my trying to deal with my siblings actions after my fathers death or... or... I just wish it was something other than that since I can't do anything about it.

I got a similar, but reversed problem. I got a night thingy to keep my teeth looking gorgeous, and last night, I woke up from a horrible pain in my neck, jaw and head, horrible. So I took the thing out, and the pain went away.

So, I figure yours will do the reverse...

Viv: The dentist said if it's not aligned correctly it can do that, was your done from a mold? I am sure you will stay gorgeous without it

I grind my teeth so bad, that my kids often wake me up, they say it is like fingernails on a chalkboard. I even chipped a molar from doing it.

Thanks Integ, for telling about OTC mouthguards, I didn't know that. I am going to try one, see if it helps... My kids will be so pleased LOL.

Sheila, yeah, mine is done from a mold. I never had that pain before, I'm scared to put it in again, lol...

Yes I grind my teeth and the headaches etc were horrid. My dentist had a mouth guard made for me from a mold taken at his office. It fits well and I don't drool. I have actually (after several years) bitten a small piece at the very end off. It makes a difference. Often there is no one reason for grinding your teeth. It COULD BE anything, it's important to first relieve your pain and then work on a stressless life (tell me if you ever get that).

    Hugs, Panda

Sure do, and more so when under stress!!!!!!!!!!

I had a splint made up a few years ago to help stop wearing my teeth out. I didn't use it for ages but just recently started to get jaw problems so I started wearing it again. And I believe it has helped.

I know splints are expensive to have made but if they save our teeth and prevent even just some pain......................I'm for it.

    Cheers, Bliss

I have TMJ, and as a result I can get a headache very easily just from biting down during a tense moment. The pain starts in my neck and runs through to the right side of my head. It can be almost debilitating at times. But, normally a couple Motrin do the trick for me.

Thanks I think I am leaning toward the splint. Rocket: I wish I could take Motrin but I'm allergic to all anti-inflammatories

My mil is 83, been a jw her entire life. She's also grinds her teeth.........her entire life.

I suspect it's psychological, eh? We brought that point up to her, but she dismissed it...and us.
