Paradise Erf - What did you NOT look forward to?

I did have an idealized version of it and it was sort of like the people who lived a long time and were artisans in the Star Trek movie, Insurrection.

Didn't it always seem, esp. in the old Star Trek episodes, the ones with Wm. Shatner, et. al that whenever there was a story about "paradise" it would get messed up or exposed at the end? Always with an explanation as to why man has a chance at Eden, but always refuses it.

Anyway, after reading someone's post here about the "Paradise Erf" and how it could still be run by at least the elders masquerading as "princes" and everybody still being governed by rules, I really wonder now if such a paradise is possible where there would be true freedom.

I was annoyed at the thought that Armageddon may come before I was old enough to get married, and I might end up not being able to marry afterward if we weren't allowed to.

Not that I was so terribly worried about *being* married at that point, mind you; I just wanted a wedding. LOL

I felt bad that some of my favorite actors would perish at armageddon.

I used to wonder if music in the new system would have any passion or balls (Led Zep comes to mind), or if it would all be like Kenny G or Yanni, tepid and pointless. A sterile perfect world would inspire very lame art or none at all. Beethoven's genius (like all great artists) was forged in an internal cauldron of suffering and despair.

When you think about it, there really wouldn't be much fun stuff to do in the "New System."

I would love to ask a witness today what they plan on doing forever and ever.

I had always imagined paradise as some sort of scene out of a fantasy novel, with magic powers and beautiful forests and whatnot. For a while I was really looking forward to it, until I began to realize just how horrible Armageddon would be. After that point, whenever other witnesses would talk about how much they were looking forward to the big A, I would secretly be thinking "not me, I hope it doesn't come for another 500 years!"

I never use big letters, but the answer would be...

    NO SEX!

I don't remember anyone telling me there'd be no sex?

But I can tell you for sure, after living in the rural US that dreams of farming must comeout of some strictly urban imagination to consider that paradise. No thank you.

...UNLESS...We go with that Spinal Tap tune!

    Workin' on a Sex Farm...

    Plantin' some corn...

    Plowin' through you beanfield...

    Pokin' your hay...

if that was the pair-of-dice, I'd be back at the Hall NOW.
