OMG, the Saline stuff REALLY works!!! I hate doing it, but man-oh-man, it has been like a miracle the last few times I did it.

I bought this thing, when it arrives I will give it a try. It is supposed to flush out mucous with salt water.

    Other things I have tried...

Nathan, I have tried and still gargle Peroxide. It works to some degree.

Recently I have been useing saline solution religiously. Seems to work, but the comfort from it is sadly temporary.

Prisca, since I have been recently to the doctor, and will be going again this Friday, I don't think I have polyps. Surely he would have said something. But since you brought it up I will ask him.

On another note... My bathroom only has a bath tub. I have not gotten around to turning it into a shower stall.

I also bought this humidifier for my job, since the air is so dry in the Jail.

KJ, I have tried Zicam too. It works some-what, but I went through it so fast that it is not cost effective and I am afraid of dependence/side effects from taking too much of the stuff or taking it too long.

Any other suggestions out there? I am open to things I haven't tried yet.

Something else that I happened to think of...

About two years ago I had a problems with getting strep throat. In a period of about a year I got strep throat three times. I have not had it since, but not long after that is when I started having more sinus infections and they were more severe. Could there be a link?

After the third time of getting strep throat I went to see a ear, nose, and throat specialist. He did not see anything unusual and just perscribed very toxic antibiotics. I think I still get diarrhea from thinking about those pills. Maybe I should insist on seeing a specialist again.

    Another side note...

Many years ago, before I was 10 years-old I kept getting ear infections. The got so severe that fluid was packed in them. The doctor sent me to a specialist who put these tiny tubes in my ear canals to drain the fluid. And then two years later the same proceedure had to be done again, because the tubes eventually work their way out. Since then, I have not had any sever ear infections, but my hearing is not perfect because of the infections.

Okay, now you all have most of my medical history.

    Any thoughts? Any more suggestions?

Yrs ago, i got into eating red pepper on stuff, once a day. It thins the mucous, clearing out the sinuses. If you're not used to it, it can burn the digestive system as well.

Yup, red peppers can certainly thin the sinuses. Me and the family are not big on spicy food. I have enough digestive problems, thanks, but no thanks.

    Jayhawks:

Goldenseal also thins mucous secretions this does help me a lot. Usually I feel like I am drowning internally.

Goldenseal, now that I have not tried. Is it an herb? I will look for it and give it a try, thanks for the suggestion!

The nasal polyps will never go away permanently, because they lodge their roots right into your brain

I am bringing this back up again.

My sinuses are feeling much better than they have been. Thanks to all who have posted. This is what I have done so far.

I take garlic pills three times a day.

I take two Echinacea-Golden Seal three times a day.

I use that saline wash that I posted a picture of every other day.

And I have been useing various sinus and allergie pills?

For the most part I feel much better and my health is improved. I would not have tried any of the first three if it was not for this board. If you have anything else to add or suggest, please, please post it.

    Again, thanks!
