Great are the rewards of self-control! Just look at some of them:
This is another of theose pictures "worth a thousand words" that the 'Tower puts out. So what do they mean with that caption? I assume the guy in the inset praying represents self-control. But what is the "doing good"? If that is him up the back not contributing to the meeting, where is the good in that? Is he DF, hence sitting up the back in isolation? Enquiring minds want to know!
Does it take self-control to sit thru a Japanese Watchtower study and not know what the hell anyone is saying?

The typical works based theology of the Watchtower is flawed in the extreme. It is not self control that moves a christian to (want) to do good, but faith and love of God. The Bible book of James addresses this topic and shows clearly that works result from faith, not the other way around.
The one couple looks like they had a fight before the meeting.
Maybe that is where the self-control comes in, not continuing the fight in the kingdom hall.
