I got the impression that they think I'm discouraged over something. They seem to be at a loss as to why I've vanished. Unless the CO gets involved(which I doubt), I think I'll see a few well-meaning people come by or call but other than that-----What can they do?

He opened up that certain ones (by name) were still trying to get to him and his family.

Sounds like a man who may be wanting to talk to you someday. He probably knows you are discontented over something dub related. he too is going to have some questions ....if they keep bugging him to a point to where he may want to talk to you or look into things himself.

You sounded like you played the safe side min. It's good the elder didn't try and get specific with things.

If he or anyone did try to corner me, I'd tell them that I was not going to answer any of their questions then I'd ask them how their family was doing and then I'd nicely let them know I had to attend to other things and to have a wonderul day.

    minimus:

It sounds as if you handled the whole situation with kindness and discretion. It also appears that the elder has his own problems with the others in the congregation. He's come to help you this time...perhaps, next time you will be able to help him.

Minimus maybe they were going to ask you how you get so many posts on JWD but then got cold feet at the last minute. Barry

If anyone ever approached me and asked me if I was "Minimus", I would say,"No. I go by the name of Farkel".

The circuit overseers' visit to me, was always like "Who cares?" What was so special about his visit that anybody should get all excited about? All it ever was was "DO MORE, DO MORE" in service, and then the obligatory B.S about us being close to the end.. blah, blah, blah. Why would witnesses even encourage Bible studies to go see him? You tell the Bible study; "You need to come here this special speaker who is going to talk about how to convert people, just like I am trying to convert you. Does'nt that sound like fun?" I would be scared to spoil the ruse by inviting "interested ones" to see the C.O.

A very nice elder came by to invite me to the Circuit Overseer's visit

Go figure. Gotta make shepharding calls to impress the CO.

I was told that I was very missed by him and many others and he got teary eyed

I just can't figure out how these elders get the eyes full of tears when someone leaves. I've seen it so many times. It's not like they truly care about the individual personally, they're just trained to bring in members and to fake love.

I remember one of the elder's wives when I moved telling me how they missed me so much and I responded by saying "why? you didn't noticed I was there when I was" Her mouth literally dropped.

I'm not sure if it is easier if they are nice to us or if it is the opposite. When someone is spiteful or mean, then they are easy to stay away from but when they are kind and act teary eyed, it can be harder to dismiss.
