UK to introduce identity cards

Call me sceptical but this is just a scame to get money (ID & Passport = £77) and will be abused by the powers that be. It will not help fight crime, terrorism or anything else.

Why have fingerprint info on my card? Aren't the ones on the end of my fingers good enough?!

How will we get our ID? We will probably present our passport or drivers license as ID ... so why not just use those?!

The only people who will probably have no problem getting them are criminals and there will no doubt be exceptions for dole cheats too.

All this does is make things more difficult for the average joe and open a new market for criminals.

It's like that old saying... When you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns.

Ok, i'll be serious. Next thing you know, we will all have to have some sort of chip implanted. I think the government goes a bit to far at times with the control they have on us.

We don't even have to carry our driving license with us and show it if we get stopped ... we get a week to go to the nearest policestation to show them. Very civilised.

There are plenty of those around... I think that an ID is nothing to worry about though unless someone has something to hide.
