I like it. I might have to adopt it, at least when I speak of him to my friends and family who are out. Thanks for sharing, Simon.

I rarely pray anymore. The last few times I did, though, I called him/her/it the "Creative Force of Love". It kind of got too wordy after a while, but that's basically how I view God these days. :-)

Why not, if he'll still answer to that name when you say it. The last prayer I addressed to Jehovah actually embarrassed him; I haven't heard from him since. Nowadays --

God = Brigid, or any of half-a-dozen other names

Jehovah = "that sorry phantom I fired some years ago"

Jehovah, Yaweh, God. Whatever comes to mind when I am talking to Him.

Funny, but to me it seems like two entities:

God = Kind, loving, caring, good

Jehovah = one mean, hateful son-of-a-bitch

It would be very interesting to see the ratio of Christian to Non-Christian is among ex-JW's.

I myself am a Non-Christian who refers to God as god. I strongly believe that god is all of us and in all of us and what all of us believe god is.

I was reading about ancient JW history that I never new of when I was doing the door-to-door thang and I came across the whole CTRussell believing God lived in Plieades. Now that is a damn fine belief. I really like it. Almost as much as James Spader in Stargate. Almost.
