What do you call Jehovah now that you are not a dub?

I call him God. I would not call my father by his first name, nor would I call god by his first name. The WTBTS were the ones that put his name in the bible, nobody else. (except for about 3 instances)

Habits die hard. For about 6 mo I felt a powerful urge to bow before eating or when a situation became stressful. For a short while I actually addressed my prayers to Alluisius or Frankenstein etc. so as to make my self laugh at my enslavement to a mindless routine. That broke the pattern without arousing feelings of guilt that had been programmed into me. Now when I sit before a meal that my loving wife worked hard to prepare, I stop and hold her hand and thank her for the good things in my life she has given me. I feel good about giving credit where credit is due.

When discussing religious history I refer to the god of the Jews as YHWH, the god of JWs as Jehovah, the god of Catholics as Jesus.

    Just God.

Jehovah reminds me too much of a certain hateful religion. Also, Jehovah now sounds to me like...Zeus, Odin; a made up name.

I don't really believe in a personal god anymore. I tend to think of god as some sort of force. Not really sure how to define it, but I definitely believe in the spiritual and I thing there is some link between the physical and the spiritual. I feel we all have that connection to the spiritual, but some are more attuned to it than others.

    I call him the DEVIL

The most purely evil being among all beings ( or myths ) that have developed a following numbered in the millions / billions

There's no question that he should be spoken of in the same breathe as Hitler and Stalin

I don't call Jehovah anything at all now.I don't pray at all.I have no relationship with any so-called god of any kind.

In my reasoning ability,I lean toward someone who started all of this life, but,I don't know who she/he is.And they ain't talking to me.

Blueblades ( I think I have been talking to the wall all this time, that would explain the not hearing back from anyone )

:Can we still call god, Jehovah. OK stupid question but I really want to know A more important question is this: if he cares so much about his name (since he made virtually EVERYTHING!), does he have some sort of inferiority complex about who he is called? If so, why? Michaelangelo painted the famous Sistine Chapel, and his work is a human and much smaller version of God's handy work such as creating the Cosmos and galaxies and such. If someone called Michaelangelo say, "Fred" would that negate his work, and would Michaelangelo get pissed about it? If he did, then he's utterly arrogant about how valuable his name is. The work Michaelangelo did stands on its own and needs no defense whatsoever. God's work is the same. If God did the same thing and got pissed because someone didn't get his name right, he would be merely human, and not a god at all. Worse, if he WAS a god, he would be a god so petty that he wouldn't deserve anything more than spit from people like me. Besides that, if he CARED so much about his name, he would have made darn sure that we knew what it was. We don't know what it was/is. The Hebrew without the vowels, and the vowel problems cause MANY possibilities for guessing his true name. Consider: YHWH YiHoWeHo (YEEE-High!) YoHaWaHa (An insane laugh at the very mention of the notion of trying to figure out God's name or anything else about him!) YuHuWaHa (Hawaiian for "get a life!") Sigh. You folks get the picture: God is bigger than some stupid name people want to attach to him. He made the entire Cosmos. Do you think he is so puny and petty that he is obsessed with whether we use his correct name? And if so, then why hasn't he told we modern humans what it is and how it should exactly be pronounced? Good point, Farkel !

If God isn't bigger than the YHWH Devil of the Jews, then we need to keep looking for whatever it is that's bigger than "God"

Shamus mentions a very good thought that I've heard here and there for years

I call him God. I would not call my father by his first name, nor would I call god by his first name.

When speaking to others about 'god', i use that term. But, what w the connotations connected to that word, it's not at all what i think is there/here. To myself, there is no word that can describe it, maybe only a general, pervasive feeling. I hardly ever feel the need to talk to it verbally.
