Elders misusing donations for "the Worldwide Work" in Oz

undercover, I have known the rank and file to put all their donations in the www box because they did not want the elders spending it on any remodeling work or because they wanted to make it difficult for the local elders. Maybe people are "voting with their pocketbook." I have seen the opposite, hardly anything for the www and all for local congregation. It wasn't until 1990 and the change in the donation arrangement that this problem developed to this degree.

Is it petty, sure, but why is that a big surprise in the "organization."

"Why are the publishers sending all this money to Brooklyn [or wherever the Australian branch is], when we can't even pay our own damn mortgage?" Kinda makes me wonder... wouldn't it make more sense to have a single contribution box, and then let the local congs forward their surplus to the Society? A lot of congregations have a resolved monthly contribution to the WWW anyway. It would only make sense.

(And of course, I'm not saying it's right for the elders to cook the books, of course. It just seems that the current arrangement can be unfair sometimes.)

Nop !! You are not allow to "pick pocket" of "OUR" brothers in Brooklyn, they are our servants and need a lot of money in funny business. If your congr. send less, the spiritual health of your congr. has problem. Your congr may in debt with mortgage, but you still have to "keep kingdumb interest" as first priority.

This is something that upsets me so much. The Watchtower has so much money and yet they get every penny they can from ordinary working people. When I was young, I was in a poor congregation and the Watchtower lent us the money to remodel. The congregation could barely pay the monthly mortgage. We had to revote our pledge several times and listen to countless talks about donating. The entire idea is absurd when you think about it. The Watchtower lends money to a congregation eventhough it has billions of dollars; expects to be repaid on time with interest and despite this, when the building is paid off the Watchtower essentially still owns it. Am I wrong?

They emphasize needing more money even while newly baptised growth is zero to barely any and their costs keep rising with inflation. In other words, this is a tip-off that they are desperate for money. Most of their annual $2 billion may be property holdings while actual liquid cash is relatively small and regular kinghall going JWs keep dropping and not donating as much.
