Many elders are simply caught up in a belief that the WBTS fosters-----They're crap don't stink. They're better than everyone else because after all, they are appointed by holy spirit and are THE ELDERS. Their bureaucratic means to do anything is so counter-productive to really helping those in need. Someone says they need help in the family and the elders have to convene a meeting to see who should render assistance. It could be a week or later before any help is given. In the meantime, you could've figured out a solution on your own.

The elders (small letters intentionally) that DF'd me were evil. I can't think of a point in my life where I was more humiliated and shit upon than that day. I hate to say this, because I'm generally a kind and loving person, but the day I saw the obituary in the paper for one of those elders that sat upon that judiciary committee, I was happy. He was not that old when he died and I was glad. Is that bad?

My step-uncle is also an elder and when he "officiated" at my grandmother's funeral I was furious as he did not know her at all.

Yes, elders excude arrogance. The Society teaches them, they are their representatives. We are suopposed to feel an accounting toward them. They are supposed to be over us.....NOT!

Too many times they act like a police force.

It really is a kiss ass club. If your in with the elders your golden. Offend 0ne and your done with the whole body.

They are afraid of the Society first, God second.

Their willingness to "cover up" for each other and lie without blinking an eye.

Being so high and mighty that they could do what they wanted and get away with it while the "little ones" couldn't pass gas without being called into the back room for their transgressions. Double standards.

They actually believe we have to account to them........I'm getting more irritated by them as the day goes on.

The whole judiciary system they have is messed up. You can't be DF'd for something unless there are two witnesses to alleged offense (i.e. child molesting). However, one elderly sister thinks she sees you kissing a girl in a restaurant and you get yanked into the study/second school/library/torture chamber so quick your head spins.

It turns out they knew there was no way it could have been me. I was out of town during the time that it happened, with the PO's son none-the-less, at a neighboring circuit's assembly. After I brought this point to their attention, they told me that hey had to discuss the matter with me so the congregation would not think that they were ignoring their duties as elders.
