The Ride

The mix of different bikes was really nice, Honda, Harley, Yamaha, Ducati, Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW, KTM, Triumph, Hyosung, etc. and one cool young ‘sister’ took her 90 year old grandpa along in a Polaris Slingshot. Most were riding street bikes and dual sport bikes. The mix of riders was also interesting. Lots of old guys like me but also a good amount of young people. About 7 of the riders were “sisters”, and about 10 riders had a passenger on the back! OMG they all missed out on field service that Saturday morning! It’s a wonder that jehober didn’t “allow” an incident to happen as punishment for missing service!

Before we took off on The Ride, one ‘brother’ (jokingly I’m sure) suggested that we line up for ‘The Blessing of the Bikes’. Another ‘brother’ (jokingly ??) suggested that we call ourselves “Hall’s Angels” (you know Kingdom Hall) and wear a big blue square patch on our leather jackets---jw.org.

Yea baby that’s the patch I want on my jacket!

The ride travelled through some really nice northern California back country, hills, vineyards, lakes, and forests, and even some challenging twists in the road. The comradery was amazing and to be honest, it was nice to not have to listen to a bunch of foul mouthed people talking at the end of the ride. (Not that I don’t occasionally use a foul word or two.) But it reminded me that my many jw friends themselves are not the problem; it’s the borg that’s the problem! Living life and enjoying a few of the good things alone the way is what it’s all about!

    just saying!

What I can't figure out is how do you take a couple of the 'friends' out in service on a motorcycle? I grant you the saddle bag come's in handy for literature.

And they used to discouraged us from buying a two door car!

Times have changed since you and I were young Giordano.

Back then in the UK it was can I scrape together for an old car - OR - a motorcycle. When I was saving to get married I ditched the car for a year and just ran a motorbike!

Nowadays (Youngsters today eh?) many can afford both a reliable car AND a decent motorbike.

    Good for them!

Join together to buy one of the halls that are closing down and form Jehovah's Angels. PIMO JWs often stay for the social circle and a group like this could fill that void.
