I do not listen to their drivel about politics and social justice. But I did have the “Rachel” haircut back in the day.......... and I have been known to try out a few fashion trends from time to time when I like it.

Whether it be sports athletes or Hollywood heavyweights or talk show hosts—do these people influence your thinking?

Yes - if some uneducated air-head famous for being pretty or just running fast is all for something, it's often a sign that it's a stupid thing.

This man had some interesting views. He anticipated relativity before Einstein. Also influenced Sigmund Freud's nephew (who gave us PR), Adolph Hitler and Mussolini - plus one or two others:-

Le Bon theorised that the new entity, the "psychological crowd", which emerges from incorporating the assembled population not only forms a new body but also creates a collective "unconsciousness". As a group of people gather together and coalesces to form a crowd, there is a "magnetic influence given out by the crowd" that transmutes every individual's behaviour until it becomes governed by the "group mind". This model treats the crowd as a unit in its composition which robs every individual member of their opinions, values and beliefs; as Le Bon states: "An individual in a crowd is a grain of sand amid other grains of sand, which the wind stirs up at will".

I know when I was 5 years old I wanted to be like superman. My mon made me a cape and for days I tried to fly like superman. After a few days I gave up. But today there is no one famous who I would want to be like or influence by. Still Totally ADD

Because of their notoriety they can bring attention to certain topics and or start conversations. Their opinions are mildly interesting but I am rarely if ever influenced one way or the other.

Heck yes. I bought a lean, mean, fat-reducing grilling machine all because of George Foreman. I also enjoy opinions from The View.

I don't think they actually have that much influence, not the way that WT always describes people as idolizing celebrities. More powerful than any one celebrity is the collective thought of groups of people and I think most people are affected greatly by the media and propaganda.
