A Question for all those who DO live in the US...or anyone else

I could sell my house and buy 2 of them twice the size in Florida out of the proceeds. Plus the weathers great too. Oysters as well!

But I'd miss Saturday afternoon football, my pub and my mates.

Maybe I could sell the house and buy 1 smaller house in Florida and 1 smaller one over here and live there 6 months of the year?

    Hmm..

E-man, I agree with you! I think it'd be great to go to my family farms in Greece and live six months, then come back here to Texas and stay here for six months! Unfortunately, we aren't able to do that because of husband's job, but it'd sure be great!

I've always thought I could live in New Zealand. The pictures I have seen are so gorgeous.. but I guess I'd want to go there before I decided to take up permanent residence! For now, I'm perfectly happy with Texas!

I like the United States, for the most part, and would rather live here than in countries where there is constant bombing, food shortages, unstable governments, and inhumane conditions. I think we have it pretty good here.... and I'm happy with it.

You'd hear no complaints from me if I were offered the opportunity to return to tropical island life in the Caribbean, where I lived for 13 years.

    Greece, eh?

Wonderful people, amazing coastline, very nice! I bought HL a new engagement ring in Corfu this summer, it was half the price of it's equivalent in the UK.

Wow! You went to Corfu!? How wonderful! My people are from the inner country near Sparta. They are nice people, yes, but they do have their peculiarities, no doubt! I bet HL loved her new ring!

I dont hear that much from the people I know. It's not really a topic of conversation.

I agree with what someone said before, that statement is a very strange one to make.

What I have always immigrant people say is that once they retire they will go "back home." I know a lot who have done just that, only to see them return within 2 years or so.

I personally love living in the US. I have lived in South America before, and while there were some places that were beautiful and I was even better off financially there, it's too chaotic. I think that the US is the most stable place to live politically and economically.

I can think of many places I'd rather live than the US. I'd rather live somewhere in the Carribbean to start. Australia, the UK, Norway, Netherlands, Greece, and especially Spain would suit me very well. A few friends of mine are trying to convince me to move to Canada which I wouldn't mind either.

Xena, this would be an interesting question if it wasn't a pointed jab at Logansrun. His post was interesting and insightful. He made good points in it and not agreeing with him is fine but doing this is rather (don't hate me for saying this) immature. Xena, you're better than this.

Whew well it's nice to know I am not the only one who doesn't sit around all day with friends trashing other countries....I was beginning to wonder if maybe I was abnormal...well ok I AM abnormal...but just not that way.

I have lived in and visited several other countries. I was extremely impressed when I was in Britian this past summer, I was fortunate in that I got to stay with several familes and although the trip was only a week it gave me a brief insight into life in the UK, I would definitely consider moving there if it ever became an option. I feel like the time I spend in other countries gave me a very rounded outlook that I might not of otherwise have had, it would be nice if my daughter had this experience also.

So while I enjoy the country I live in and and am extremely grateful for the quality of life I have, I am sure I could live just as well in another country....although I would miss the drive thru banks and some other conveniences

Aztec...immature? lol perhaps so, perhaps not but I think I got my point across..at least to a few people...and that was my ultimate goal...like or dislike my methods.

Interesting comments PS...so does material wealth infer responsibility for those less fortunate? Or is it the fact that some of our leaders seem to feel that we need to direct affairs outside our country? Personally I feel we should help countries that ask for our help if we are able and let the rest take care of their own problems as long as they do not jeopardize our quality of life.

    Enjoyed the comments everyone

Like or dislike your methods? Honey, you know I really like you lots! I do, however, dislike your methods. This is not meant to be a slam on you cause I really care about you. I do! Why can't all my friends like eachother? Damnit!

    for you Xena!
