Perhaps they are trying to artificially inflate the 'need' to go preaching and making new recruits..

Can you just imagine Ted Jarasz crying "Please, can we have our congregations back?" !!

Other reasons include insufficient contributions, lack of elders and flagging zeal.

Fortunately, this is a sign of God's blessing as he sifts through the congregations, removing all those who fall into the snares of independent thinking, financial initiative, and personal satisfaction.

Lost congregations - like the lost ten tribes of Israel that some fundys claimed became the Native Americans. I can just imagine the Witnesses announcing that they've found the lost congregations in the Pleiades.

Or maybe the rapture is happening and nobody can figure out where all the dubs have gone...

I guess if you're dirt poor in a third world country with no other options the "truth" probably sounds a lot better than it does here.

    Bingo Mysterious!

In developed countries with wise ass apostates informing the media and general public about the modern day hitler Organisation of dubs, they must travel to the un-informed. Sadly though.....for them.......the un-informed to not have the material resources the informed do, and so now the dubs are re-figuring ways to.........."milk the nations".

A LOT of religions flood the 3rd world countries.....fertile ground of uneducated people. Same way tobacco companies do. Even the infant formula makers do that.

All in an effort to show these people that they can be like the Industrial countries with better living standards.

Hopefully, computer access with continue to grow along with education for children. Most likely (as in all other countries) the second & third generations will grow away from the WTBTS cult.

Long live the Internet & Jehovah's Witnesses who've found FREEDOM escaping the WTBTS.

    Hi waiting,

Most likely (as in all other countries) the second & third generations will grow away from the WTBTS cult.

I hope so......but you have to wonder. The Muslims seem to prosper quite well in their 3rd world.......however 99.9% of them are already indoctinated. Suppose all the Muslims had a computor and there was much on the internet that exposed them as following something false. How many of them would re-form.....if they were ALLOWED to re-form with no reprocussions? I'm not sure I could answer that. My point is........I suppose education of the dubs will slow down the progress in these countries.........but will it ever exterminate them? Perhaps it might to the point of financially breaking them......we can only hope

The difference between the "Muslims" and the Borg is that the muslims are not one contiguous unit. It seems like they are all united against us - but in reality, we've just pissed off most of their national groups, who naturally in their position of weakness, rally the troops through religion.

Nor is Internet access or education a sure guard against fanaticism. Most of the 911 guys were educated, wealthy, and lived in the United States for a couple of years before their demise.

However, for a group that relies on information control to keep its members in line - like the Borg - the Internet is like an ever-tightening choke hold, as sources of revenue dry up, and members trickle away, due to the flow of information.

There are some people who are so dedicated to a cause or person, like some die-hard dubs or some Muslims or born-again Christians trying to get creationism taught in school, that no amount of information will ever change their mind. If they are dangerous to society at large, then they have to be imprisoned or killed. But the majority of Muslims want nothing more than to live in peace with the rest of the world, maybe trade on fair terms. The few who are leading this wave of terrorism are outcasts even in their own world.

Most people are honest enough (and it's frightening to think that my view of the world relies on the basic decency of human beings) to look at new information and respond to it. Hence, the Internet won't necessarily REFORM muslims, but it might moderate their fear somewhat.
