My spies seem a bit confused. Here, in this neck of the woods 3 congregations had 3 separate sittings. The attendance seemed to be swelling. However, the congregations have changed, merged and such. My spies haven't mentioned the numbers attending. In other news, one of the Kingdom Hells is up for sale.

Yes, agreed. There are so many mergers and acquisitions that it's hard to get a handle on it. Overall in my area it subjectively feels down.

SF. I et the impression it's down from what I hear elsewhere. Howver, I'm not sure it would be down everywhere.

With multiple sittings you often have some going to other congregations to get the early or later sitting etc so it skews the figures and in my neck of the woods there is a school vacation over this time so many have travelled to other locales.

I don't think we must fixate on memorial attendance numbers at all as being any indicator of anything lest we fall into a similar trap.

Zappa, I agree. Sure, in years past there was growth AND the Memorial attendance was rising, too. But almost none of the ones who came to the Memorial for their first exposure to JW Land ever actually convert to JWism.. Their curiosity is satisfied, they make trails for higher ground.

incidentally, I like your name. Frank or Moon? ;)

Our attendance was down about 75 from last year. There were new people that have been roped in this past year but a lot of folks have been dropping out. This new meeting schedule has been terror on the bros as well as attendance, myself included.

Funny as the ding a ling from Bethel that gave the talk said that " Perhaps this year we will see 20 million attend the Memorial worldwide." 😂😂😂😂

We can't trust watchtower corporation figures. However, it is interesting to see if attendance is lessening as we think it is. Of course, it doesn't mean the end of the corporation and it's entities, but maybe an indication they're not as popular as they once were.

Down in My area, usually back overfill rooms are full, standing room only. Back book counter, people standing. This year both back rooms empty lights off. No one standing, main auditorium plenty of open chairs. First time back to the hall in about 3 months. We even had a Bethel speaker, go figure.

MofC - that's very interesting. I remember those days too. Looks like the watchtower corporation can't hold the attention of people in the internet age.

    Good!

someone posted a new photo of their congregation this week. With all publishers at the front, I just happen to have a photo taken maybe 12 years ago and it was the same exact people maybe missing just a few, no growth at all in 12 years.
