Would You Stop Buying A Product Because of Political Differences?

Yes stopped buying Tunnocks tea cakes and shopping in Halfords because they promoted the “top wee, too poor, too stupid” unionist tripe in 2014 and since.

If I ever bought Gillette in the first place I would have stopped buying them too because of the anti-man propaganda.

Only in the worst cases. Companies like Walmart consistently abuse their workers, ruin neighborhoods, ruin the environment, and drive product quality into the ground seeking lower prices. As I view top quality at full price a better value than things that are going to fall apart, ruin other things, or do a very poor job despite low prices, I would rather buy things that are more expensive and last longer anyways. All that means I will not shop Walmart unless absolutely necessary--and that they support ruining the demographics of the whole planet via their ads is just one more reason not to go there.

And there is the Top Ten list for supporting a certain country that no one is supposed to criticize (hint: it is prominent in the bible and quran). And, in general, they all make products that are junk. General Electric, at the top of the list, used to make decent products. You might have a GE appliance of 1950s vintage that has more life than that new GE appliance in the store today. Because of this, and because their quality has gone down the toilet so much, I will not buy anything GE--unless it is some antique from someone that happens to have a GE washer of 1950s vintage.

The other companies on that list are Coke, Pepsi (including and especially Starbucks, a subsidiary of Pepsi), McDonalds, Nike, Nestle, Intel, Motorola, Hewlett Packard, and Kimberly Clark. In the case of Coke and Pepsi, their products are full of high fructose corn syrup or aspartame. Nestle loads its products with monosodium glutamate, and I do not trust them not to put neotame in their foods (plus they ruin the environment so badly). HP and Intel produce rubbish products--but have fun buying a non-HP computer with a non-Intel processor (my computer, bought in 2006, is HP but with AMD processor and I am doing all I can to make it last as long as possible). Motorola is also rubbish. Nike and Kimberly Clark both charge full price for junk. As for Kleenex, I prefer a store brand and it does just as good.

Switches? I rarely drink soda at all--and I am more inclined to spend more for a soda that has real sugar, and does not come from Coke or Pepsi (or Royal Crown, for that matter) instead. Instead of McDonalds, you are better off going to Wendy's (and it's not just because "Where's the beef?") or Burger King (or, simply, going less often or not at all for fast, good-tasting poison). HP makes rubbish printers--I have one that simply will not come on (Epson is better, but still not perfect). I shop for L.L. Bean shoes instead of Nike or other high-priced shoes (they are about the same price, or even a bit cheaper--a surprise for such high quality). Better quality instead of a bigger name. And instead of Nestle, I prefer Hersheys, Mars, or some of the smaller companies that import chocolate from Germany.

And no, I do not waste my money on Gillette products. Disposable Bic razors last just as long (single blade razors are almost as good as those 5 billion blade razors), for way less money. They cost around $4 at full price for a pack of 10, instead of $20 or more for a pack of 4 or 5 Gillette.

it becomes impossible to sort it all out, and there are shades of grey in most of it. I will buy cakes from a Baker, go through checkers wearing hijabs etc.

Remember Joan Baez and Hanoi Jane? No matter what your view on Vietnam it was still beautiful folk music and a good looking woman so I didnt let vitriol ruin my enjoyment

I guess I do to an extent.

I would not buy from Hobby Lobby when I can go to Michaels.

I would not buy from Chick-Fil-A no matter how good some people say it tastes. I guess they think people don't eat on Sundays. Plus just about everyone else sells chicken sandwiches.

Oh, and Dominos Pizza. I never really liked it that much anyway.

There are self absorbed sociopaths at the top of most corporations. It would be exhausting to keep a list.

The chick-fil-a stunt was not really about religious freedom but about an orchestrated attack on the ACA. Most if not all of the companies who complained were buying off the shelf insurance that already had the coverage they supposedly objected to. In a situation like that where the company has made itself a spectacle, I instinctively have a gag reflex.

However, I have friends on all sides of issues and try to appreciate others views. IMO, Trying to punish every company that has taken a stand I disagree with just further divides the country.

If lil old me buying/not buying any product mattered or made any waves in the world; dont you think by now the world would have been so much a better place to live in than when we started??

History says it all. People come, people go...fee fi fo fum...

I do things as per my budget, not by some badass corporation views, stance etc.

If lil old me mattered to them, then their opinions might matter to me.

In my small way I always try and support local shops in my area. I simply refuse to be lead by ads, big brand names, coerced, guided mind control, manipulations of corporations in any way. I do it my way, have always done.

If only my actions could make a huge change in the market, businesses, I would. But the reality is no , it doesnt. They are way bigger than me, I am not even small fry. So why live my life through mind control one way or the other!

What is the political alignment of your favorite toilet paper maker?

What is the political alignment of your gas station?

What is the political alignment of the person ringing you up at the supermarket?

What is the political alignment of your father's nurse?

What is the political alignment of your private insurance?

is a slippery slope. Not everything is politics.

cofty - Like thousands of other men I have boycotted Gillette for their misandrist advertising campaign.

I have done exactly the same. Products should be bias free...especially from the virtue signalling lefty fascists........up until recently, I thought I was a lefty. Now I'm not because of the snowflakes poisoning the west with their lies and hate speech veiled as 'inclusion'. Stop me before I rant..................................
