Well, jeez; if grocery stores can reserve a few extra spaces and request that they be saved for the elderly or for pregnant women, can't the KH do the same thing? I can't remember all the times we were asked to keep the back rows of seats at the hall available for families with young children; how about a local needs talk requesting that the members of the "spiritual paradise" keep some spaces open for the elderly folks in the congregation??

Well that that is about par with the elders, most if not all of them have ego problems. What goes around comes around.

    I agree with starfish.

If the elders in that congregation had any real concern for that elderly sister at all, what would prevent them from reducing the handicapped parking by one and putting up a sign giving Sister Elderly her very own personalized parking space?

Oh, yeah, that would be "creature worship". Morons...

OK, how about reducing the number of handicapped spaces and substituting a couple of "ELDERLY PARKING ONLY" spaces immediately adjacent to the handicapped parking spaces?

If someone in the congregation claimed to be stumbled by such action, they should be told to STFU and learn a little compassion and empathy. Certaiinly the elders would "take the lead." If a non-elderly non-handicapped person was seen to be ignoring the signs at meeting times, he should be spoken to privately, then his privileges should be reduced, then a special needs talk should be given, then he should be impaled on a spear and his body left on display in front of the Kingdom Hall as an example to others - the Israelite God of War is not to be trifled with!!

The legalistic Dubs do only what John Law required them to do by putting in handicapped parking in the first place. They couldn't love their way out of a paper bag with the bottom cut out of it.

My cousin had a bad experience with parking in Handicapped spots. He works nightshift at Superstore, and since the store is closed, everyone can park wherever they please (or so they thought). My cousin grabbed a handicapped spot and went inside to work. When he came out, he found a parking ticket for parking in a handicapped spot!

I believe the elders were only trying to warn the sister, but they may have used the wrong words to do so and ended up offending her.

Actually, here in California, they can come onto private property and ticket a person illegally parked in a handicapped space. It happened at a car dealer I worked at and the dealer then had to pay the fine, then license the vehicle, which was not cheap.

This sister should do as blondie said and get a pass for herself for transporting her handicapped friend. Her friend might already have one of those placards that hangs from the rearview mirror.

81 year old, feeble ladies aren't going to contact the Motor Vehicles to do this stuff. If elders or others wanted to, they could assist. I know the area quite well----NO COP is going to give a ticket there. Probably, someone complained that she was violating the law and the elders feel obliged to correct her.....For some reason, this sister was prevented from "being hooked up" via the telephone because the elders felt she could still make it to the meetings....I dunno know....

Wow, I ve heard everything. Lady Lee good point the parking lot is not part of the municpality but a private lot, and no way in hell would a cop give her a ticket. Wednesday your point is also true.

Some days I try to wonder at what level of egotism these elders will go to . An act of LOVING KINDNESS would be that an elder could assign a pioneer or a M.S. to take her to the Motor Vehciles for the form and then drive her to the Dr. who would fill in the form. Then when you take it immediatly to the Motor Leauge, they will immdiatley issue her a TEMP permit that takes affect that moment. And as soon as the MVL goes over her medical condition etc. they will issue her a Permanent Permit. And I reiterate that this has to be done in the spirit of Christian Love and kindness. you could hold your breathe til they do something about it. What a stupid drip of an elder.

It is a disgrace, that they(elders etc) allow all kinds of offences to occur in the confines of the KH and organitzation and these people get away with it. That makes me so mad I could pi

All it takes is a few mimutes, of their time. I guess their time is better spent watching a movie or going out in the service( Which this act of kindness would be in the eyes of Jehovah) dah they don't see that, They go shopping or out to supper. God how long does it take to help a sweet dear lady, who more than likely who has devoted all her life to the JW's,

Please I have seen so much sh**T go on in cong. and really no one wants to help, they have to much to do with their day. Ah but let me not judge all so harshly be cause some other dear soul will probably help her and then she will praise God for such a wonderful Organization.

When I was really sick in the hospital and I need a visit or some kind word, did I ever get it NO i didn't. Not even. Sso why would someone go out of their way.???

This Orangefatcat is crazy today because stuff like this sends me into orbit...

Min. someone must be able to help. Please make a plea. And as for brother Flea let him rot. What a way to frighten a dear sister. He is a Moron....

Orangefatcat, is concerned but can't help I live to far away, but if I lived near her I would surely do it.

Legally to use public handicapped parking spaces she does require the sticker or permit and have it visible.

In this country, (U.S.) the elders are right. It seems hard but they have to be concerned about the law. I have a handicapped permit for my mother, but I see plenty of people using their permits illegally. They had better hope they don't get caught. Even if it's on seemingly private property, if it is a handicapped spot, you must have a permit.

If those women are handicapped then they qualify for the permit. What is the problem?
