A sister at my door today

I suppose it was just a matter of time till it happened. I've faded, not been DFed or DAed, for years now. Once they tracked me down and tried to reactivate me, but then I moved, and hopefully lost them. Then today there was that knock...

I really am thankful for the folks here who have informed me of the methods used today. If I had not been, I would have ignorantly asked about her tablet and then there would probably have been the RV. It really IS a return to the JFR phonographs, just modernized. One doesn't even get a biblical passage read any more. Maybe I should have asked for one of the GB's autographs—oops, no, THAT would have assured a RV!

Be prepared for a follow-up call by two elders - if you revealed your past association.

She would automatically give your details to the elders if she knew you were a "lost sheep."

Do you have caller ID: if you aren't sure it is a friend or family you want contact with, don't answer let go to voicemail.

If you see 2 men with suits/coats on, just don't answer the door.

Searcher: I don't think they keep records the way the use to. "Be prepared for a follow-up", I may be wrong but in the past 15 years I have told them when they come to my door I was a Elder, served as a missionary, served where the need is great for 9 years, I'am a Apostate and I have several family members who are elders. Just the other day two young sisters knocked on my door. There is one KH in my town so over the years I know I have talked to over half of the members in that congregation, and they still knock on my door.... You would think someone made a notation, this guy is a Apostate he deserve to die don't waste your time. Over the years I have spoken with several elders in the congregation and every two or three months someone new knocking on my door. The two young sister that was at my door the other day while an elderly sister waited at my gate tells me they do not keep records because no way would that elderly sister sent those two teenagers to my door if records were kept.

@ JM - As far as I'm aware, DNC's (Do Not Calls) are listed on the back of every map of the congregation's territory. Unless that has stopped during the past 2 - 3 years.

Searcher: Question. Do they respect the DNC's? Apparently they do not because there are folks here that have requested to be on the list...So is there a time limit to be on the list??The next time they come to my door I will ask them to put my name on the DNC and I will make sure, I want it done in my present and if you come back I will call the law.You think that will work??LOL Things have changed since 1987, we kept good records in those days.....

I asked to be taken off their DNC list, but they won't do it.

They don't want JWs talking with me.

    Hi Careful,

Am I assuming correctly that since you've moved into a new area the "sister" that called on you didn't realize you were a former JW ? If she didn't know and if you didn't show any interest, you may not hear from them until the next go-round through your neighborhood.

We have a KH only about 3 miles from here and have only seen JW's in the neighborhood about 3 times in the last 8 years. We have a Mormon church about the same distance away and we get called on quite often by them.
