  If you're talking about racism... good grief it's rampant! I'll never forget when a bro in Illinois told me that the WTS was not suggesting that "mixed marriages" were ok, they were just commenting on a trend. ARRRGGGHHHH... I was struck dumb for about 2 seconds, " What mixed marriages, are sisters/brothers marrying lions or giraffes or dogs? Otherwise, I don't know what you're talking about. Most folks I know marry other human beings." Brother acted like I hadn't said a word. I hate that.

  I like your point! It just kills me that they can say they have no predjudice and when it comes down to it... there is plenty.

  (sorry if I got this thread off the direction it was meant to be.. but when I see the word colorblind.. I think race)

  An elder told me recently that they show no discrimination based on years of service. "Look at so-and-so, my elder friend here. He is a convert, whereas I am a third-generation Witness. And yet we are both treated equally." This was said, I guess, to make me feel better as a "worldly one" married to a JW.

  People without prejudice don't point out the difference. I would have never known that elder so-and-so was a convert, if it hadn't been pointed out to me. Who cares?

  Obviously elder third-generation cared enough to point it out.

  Avenger, About that quote: Those who speak in white lies become color blind... I think that like snowblindness they become blind to any truth or lie... it's whatever the paranoid WTS finds acceptable. There is nothing but the blinding light of denial, they refuse to adjust their sight so they remain snow blind.
