I wonder how many are like me staying PIMO for the great association and gathering etc. Also find it very interesting having a front row seat watching the collapse of Borg.

Im not wasting any more time or money on anything I don’t want to do like preaching and mostly just go on zoom

There is nothing I want to do that would be considered disfellowshiping sin, I’m married and want to live by Bible principles but I have serious doubts that the GB were chosen by God and are his one and only spokesmen on earth

im not even sure there is a god

The point is I don’t want to look back on years wasted plus all the mental and emotional tool that can wreck havoc on your mental health of you wake up too quickly and realise you have been believing a lie

i think it’s a lot more healthy as I have done it, brought up a Jude but always had doubts as now I’m certain the GB are not chosen by God if there is such a thing as God

how any Jdubs are going to have mental breakdowns and serious emotional problems over the next few decades as they slowly realise the big A is not coming and they were lied to

i think it it going to be millions of them

" all benefits" you make it sound like you getting paid to dress and drive too attend extremely boring meetings and assembly. It's good to meet people. But if you are a man there's several requirements you have too fullfil. You have to reach forward so you can get appointments ( free labour). There are few few benefits being a JW.

Indy - I wonder how many are like me staying PIMO for the great association and gathering etc.

I wouldn't go as far as 'great association'. these people are not real friends because they'd drop you in a heartbeat if you got DF'd. True friends stick with you no matter what.

Also find it very interesting having a front row seat watching the collapse of Borg.

Sorry to let you down...but.....You'll have a long wait. Nothing much will happen except they'll perhaps, change their business model.

want to live by Bible principles

Bible principles or the Corporations(tm) interpretation of them?

I have serious doubts that the GB were chosen by God

He didn't. It's obvious. I'm not sure I believe in God, so to me the point is moot.

Look at what was said at the Australian Royal Commission.............

Geoff Jackson at the Australian Royal Commission Aug 15
Angus Stewart Q. And do you see yourselves as Jehovah God's spokespeople on earth?
Jackson answered. “That I think, would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that God is using. “

This raises lots of questions about the GB(tm) (Pee be upon them). The implications are massive. I'll bet you a pound to a pinch of snuff, everyone in your Congregation(tm) won't know anything about the ARC into child abuse within the Organisation(tm).

how any Jdubs are going to have mental breakdowns and serious emotional problems over the next few decades as they slowly realise the big A is not coming and they were lied to

A lot of us have and still do. the Corporation(tm) is an evil entity. But, it will remain for a long time.

Jackson's answer to that question shows --again-- that when faced with any sort of pressure, the GB will fold. The same GB that expects the rank and file to stay loyal even when faced with torture and death, because god will not let them suffer more than they can endure.

So if you are faced with torture and death, grit your teeth and stay loyal! And if a prosecutor in a CSA inquiry asks you an uncomfortable question... give a wishy-washy reply?

Take the time you need! Only you know how much time that is. I was on this board nearly 9 years before I finally made the jump. For me, the catalyst, the thing that made me say: "Alright, that's enough", was the kids that started repeating some of the things we were hearing at the meetings.

In short, it was a natural, smooth process that ultimately lead to us leaving and casy freedom. Technically, I'm"inactive"... so, even now, there are some limits to the things I can say and do around some of my family members and on forums such as this one.

Anyways. all the best to you!

You will get fed up some day and throw in the towel. What is sad to me is some are so burned out by that time, they take their spite out on God himself. They deny him...The thought that comes to my mind is:Then they will know that I am God! Disbelief in God becomes convenient to some.

I certainly respect people's choices in that regard. And as StephaneL just said it is a decision that may change with time and circumstance. I have to say this tho, I have a friend that hung around, only to be shunned by their children later. It seems clear to me; the programing needs to be distanced and inoculated against not just ignored. As far as being married, my relationship bloomed after leaving. If you reflect on it, so-called 'Bible principles' are actually just 'principles' with male dominance and intrusive judgementalism added. It may surprise you to know lots of nonJW couples work hard on their relationship and selflessly love each other.

Nuffy - You will get fed up some day and throw in the towel.

This is very true. At some stage it all gets a bit much.

they take their spite out on God himself

In my case, I take my spite out on the Governing Body(tm)(Pee be upon them) because I am no longer convinced there is a God.

Disbelief in God becomes convenient to some.

I'm sure in some cases this is true, Nuffy. In my case it's genuine and very inconvenient.

The Governing Body(tm)(Pee be upon them), have lied and continue to lie. I was a victim of their grift. Socratic questioning has taken me to a more logical place. Not a place I want to be, but hey, you gotta face facts. Facts don't care about feelings.

I loathe The child abuse enabling drunkards called the Governing Body(tm)(Pee be upon them)

punkofnice, your disbelief in God doesn't spite the GB in the least. They don't care and never did care about any of us. This is one of the most tragic things I am seeing among the exjw, they go from loving God, to disbelief. Actually the God JWs claim to worship isn't the real one. Bible says God is love. But for the people of JW, God is a hard task master that you can never work hard enough for. For the JW, they accept the "foreman" that beats the slaves into submission -what loving God would allow such treatment of his slaves-Matt and Luke tells us it isn't acceptable in the parables of the Faithful slave.
