Don't know about where you are, here there's a chain of stores called Mail Boxes Etc. They are geniuses when it comes to packing stuff for shipment. Call whoever does that kind of thing in your area and see what they can ship and at what cost.
How do you??? Help Please

OMG sheila, still laughing at the "suck" instead of "such".....the things we type in a hurry.....I have done it many times myself.
sorry. No advice in shipping...I dunno about shipping pies...that would be dangerous I would think, like dogs sniffing the parcells and eating them?...Keep us posted and let us know if they make it to their destinations

Hi Sheila,
I send baked goods USPS Express Mail overnight(ask waiting if her goodies get there in one piece). The delivery is guaranteed by next day noon. It's never failed me. Since it's going to a military base be sure and check the box marked "waiver of signature" on the addy label they'll have you fill out.
I've shipped a pie before and I recommend you freeze it, cut a piece of parchment to cover the filling then use one of those seal-a-meals to wrap it tight. If you don't have a vacuum sealer take it to your local market(deli/bakery)and have them do it for you. Then place it in a tupperware or rubbermaid pie carrier. Center the pie then stuff some paper around the pie so it moves as little as possible. Put the plastic lid on and it's ready to go. Make sure everything is packed nice and tight in the shipping carton. I sent a package overnight weighing 12 lbs last Friday(approx. 1000mi)for $40. It arrived in less than 8 hrs.

(((Seven)))) Ya beat me to it. I've used Federal Express Next day air with alot of success. It's spendy but when it postively, absolutely has to get there overnight....hmmmm we could make a commericial with that!!
Good luck with it and ................ are you bringing some cookies to Dallas? Pictures Sheila in the kitchen baking for the next week to keep up with the requests !!

Here's a thought; Instead of sending a finished pie, would sending a complete set of ingredients work? If you sent "instructions" along with pumkin and spices, do you think the guys could make it.
I ask because I've made pies before while camping, using a Dutch Oven.
Logistically this could be a no-go, but it might be worth checking.

Yesssssssss! I can vouch for Seven's method -and her cooking abilities. All her gourmet stuff arrived in wonderful shape & the JW guy who worked with me helped me eat MY Christmas gift!
If a pie sounds risky - how about pumpkin tarts (which have nothing to do with sucking) --- the tarts would be smaller, perhaps even shipping in the cupcake tin?
Merry Christmas y'all!
