The main reasons why the Russians banned the JWs are their stand on blood, their practice of breaking up families through shunning, and the teaching that they are better then everyone.
And yet, the WT replaces these reasons with "Because we are god's people".
If they were honest, in articles such as these, they would write: Despite persecution, we will uphold our practice of shunning, our refusal of blood and non collaboration with authorities in cases pertaining to paedophilia.
Instead, they will present the prospect of persecution and tell the people: No matter the cause the world is telling you, it is because we are god's people.
That's why so many of us believe that they are manipulative and banking on it.

Throughout their history, JWs have suffered persecution for their political neutrality or right for freedom of speech. I believe we can all agree that these were noble causes for which to be persecuted. When they were persecuted in the US in the 1910s, or under the Nazis, or in Quebec (Canada) in the 50s, or even in Malawi, they were proud to say WHY: Political Neutrality. Same thing South Korea, everyone knows WHY. And now go ask any JW today why they are persecuted in Russia: Because they hate Jehovah’s People! Yeah, but what do they hate about them? If they were to know the why, I believe many followers would question the nobility of standing tall for malicious practices.
Russia is not taking the proper approach by persecuting the religion as a whole. The result is that religious leaders far away on the globe use it as a mean to fortify the spirits of their members. It is, in fact, having the very opposite effect. You cannot kill ideas with the sword.

Of course these videos, pictures scare the kids, but in comparison what religious conflicts really mean for people in different religions, regions?

A lame and desperate religion trying everything conceivable to keep their members intact and not leave. As many of us have noticed, the main approach now is to stir up human emotions. They have focused on this method in all the recent conventions and broadcastings. The music videos… the bunker videos… the tactical teams hunting JWs in the woods… the resurrection videos… the best life ever videos and interviews.
They have totally given up on a cerebral defence and discussion of their doctrines (overlapping generations…) because they will lose if they do. Even members at the carts do not engage is a back and forth discussion, all individuals are referred to their precious website and free literature. I predict the tugging at one’s heartstrings will only intensify.

To keep these good people from such terror why isnt the gb repatriating them out of that country to a safe country?
