The belief that anyone needs to be "saved" is a false premise. It simply isn't true. No one needs "saving." This is a theological lie designed to manipulate and control people.
Imagine for a moment how different your life would be if you didn't believe that, if you never even heard that.
Being human is a challenging proposition, to be sure. We are all conscious (to a greater or lesser degree) of our flaws, fears and neuroses. Religions offer easy answers, but they are not based on reality and only add delusions and paranoia to our list of problems thereby compounding them.
To be a spiritual but not religious person is challenging. It requires us to find our own answers and our own meaning. But it does free us from the illusory burdens of guilt and shame which are based upon false beliefs such as the one that we need "saving," and that only a supernatural, invisible being can grant us that ... at some undefined point in the future but conveniently via this religion or that. In the meantime there is always the underlying fear that nothing you do is ever good enough and just one false step, one mistake or moment of weakness can cause you to lose out on everlasting life, maybe even suffering eternal torment.
But again, none of that is true. Those are more religious lies designed to manipulate and control you. Don't believe them and see how your life changes.
We are only alive now at this precise moment. We only have now. The past is gone and the future is guaranteed to no one. Do not let anyone take your present away from you by telling you lies and holding out false promises--promises which they have no power to deliver.
Do I have to believe in Jesus to be saved?
Kind of a illogical nonsensical question is it not given the core identity of this god and the structured endeavoring worship of him observed throughout practicing Christianity ?

Either way, have you studied every single point ever made in every publication or talk provided as proof for your particular belief? Have you objectively studied every point ever made against your belief in every publication or talk ever given? Can you say you've truly, objectively, spent all your time and resources doing so? No, you cannot. It is impossible.
Why set an admittedly impossible standard for believing whatever it is you choose to believe about God or Christ or whatever?
After setting this impossible standard for determining truth, why do you blame God for making things difficult for you?
If you wait until you have 100% certainty, you will never do anything.
For example, can you prove with 100% certainty that you are not an amoeba who is hallucinating this entire human being existence you think you are experiencing?
Have you truly, objectively, spent all your time and resources trying to rule out this possibility? No, you cannot. It is impossible.
But that doesn't stop you from concluding that you really are a human being and from living your life accordingly.
Purposing the redemption of sins through human sacrifice or murder of another.
Ask first wether this god or a son really exists. When you can prove that as a fact, then give him your worship.
In that order....

Because isn't this true, pure belief the whole foundation of religion and salvation? Many say I have to believe in Jesus to be saved. This is why I ask.
(side note: I often ascribe to other possibilities of this reality being an illusion. Take simulation theory for example. )
@GoneAwol
Many days I believe, I pray, but I would be lying to myself if I say I could prove God's existance as fact. There is no proof, just faith.
Do you believe in the tooth fairy? Goblins? Aliens?
If not, why not?
@GoneAwol
I believe I understand the point you are making.
I choose to not believe in those things due to lack of evidence.
On the flip side, I also cannot 100% disprove their existence, just like God.
However, I have this gut feeling of "there has to be"; I know it's only faith and is meaningless but I choose to hope. I can neither prove or disprove God.
