"There is something going on with those guys"

The echo chamber. These guys' jokes are never run past critical thinkers who aren't part of their in crowd, so they're never shown how off they actually sound to real people.

Then some new guy interviewed a Branch committee member and summarised the whole Saturday Dedication in 20 minutes,

They were both branch committee members. Steve Morrice is a long time big wig and the new one is the token black guy just to show diversity, they also have a token Asian on the branch committee for this purpose.

I wonder if we'll ever see a token woman?

    Last Sunday's broadcast was a complete anti-climax.

No mention of all the week's events as mentioned on here, no actual dedication talk and not even on the actual day, just a review the following day. Those of us of a certain age that remember Craven Terrace and the building of Mill Hill etc were sadly disappointed.

I think it's "interesting" that there has not been anything on the jwdotorg site about this either. Personally i think the GB has something of a "down" on Britain. I well remember in the early 1980's during the Falklands conflict, the YB for those years (1983ish ?), the map showed the Falklands as Los Malvinas which is what the Argentinians call those islands. Whomever the GB think they should belong to does not alter the fact they are the BRITISH Falkland islands. The GB took a deliberate political stance against Britain then.

St George of England, it's not the only time they've played fast and loose with respect to nations other than the USA. I recall something about Greece not recognising the name Macedonia for the former Yugoslavian country. Not sure of the details (it was probably the 90s) but the WT placated the Greek government by changing references to Macedonia on the back of WT literature, but continued to refer to Macedonian editions of literature on the back of literature for other countries, hoping that the Greek government wouldn't notice. (It was some time ago, so I'm sketchy on the details. I do remember some exJWs suggesting that the Greek government be contacted to inform them of this example of the WT talking out of both sides of its mouth. It may be roughly contemporary with the Bulgaria/blood/sanction scandal.)
