"Why don't you just wait until the new system?".

Ahhh. Now there it is. That bait & switch,, carrot on a stick that is and always will be a little of reach.

You watch your life pass you by.

All religions have some concept of the afterlife.

The "new system" is the Borgs.

You can do all these things now,,in the life you have & know right now. Because this life you live right now,,, is the only conscious life you're guaranteed to have is right now.

Instead of some pioe dream,,pie in the sky life which will never come to fruition.

I am totally bemused by the OP . As l may have mentioned before ( a couple of times 😂) l am a life long British Anglican. I have never heard anyone claim that we are in the last days / end times etc.

We know that Jesus said that ONLY the Father knows when the end will come . We believe that you should live each day as if it is your last and speculation about times and dates just detracts from doing God's work in the every day.

As far as l know Catholics don't go in for these predictions nor do Baptists or Methodists. That covers the majority of British Christians .

End times predictions apparently became all the rage in the Northeastern part of the USA in the 1800s. The Millerite movement, which spawned a great many splinter religions (including the JWs) were responsible for one of the more memorable ones, when Miller predicted the end in 1843 and then 1844, finally deciding that Jesus had indeed assumed the throne, but that he had done so quietly. A ruse that the WTS would adopt later on.

@ Jhine, if you look at any of the religious satellite TV channels on any evening, YouTube, or just Google "are we in the last days," you'll find there's a multitude worldwide who believe these are "the last days."

You're right - no Catholic predictions so far.

Prophecy scholars point to the rebirth of Israel in 1948 for a possible beginning of "end times".

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a degree in Prophecy Scholarship

These are indeed my Last Days, but I enjoy every one of them, I do what I bloody well like, and like what I bloody well do ! -- Phizzy

    Words to live by!

I share the sentiments of Mark Twain:

“I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.”

The world will indeed end one day - some four billion years from now, when the sun finally runs out of nuclear fuel.
