wanty - That is logical.
Wasn't there one where a Jobo was supposed to have been on a quiz program and shone out like a shiny thing in a shiny sun shine day...shiningly?
When viewed, it was nothing of the sort.

OMG!!!!!
How many times did we hear "a friend of a friend" has this occasion happen to them where a JW woman called on a rapists door but he left her alone because he (allegedly) saw "two big men standing with her" who were "obviously" angels?
MY FATHERINLAW ELDER told this OVER AND OVER!
I would ask him - so how did the sisters find out he was a Rapist?
And did the Rapist tell the Police - oh there were these 2 women at my door but I DID NOT Rape them cuz there were 2 men next to them?
Did the Rapist confess to OTHER things he NEVER DID?
"Oh officer one day I went to the bank and I did not Rob it because the money was in a safe"
SO FUCKING INSANE!!!!

Wanty. Yes. It makes you wonder how they got all the background info on this urban legend that's been going around different religions over the years. It's interesting that the Jobos hijacked it too.

Yep we were instructed at MTS to "massage" the experiences. It wasn't about the publisher's experience, it was about making whatever point the Teaching Committee wanted to be made.
I once was interviewed because of graduating MTS, single pioneer elder, blah blah. The CO wanted me to embellish ( not his words, mine). When I got on stage, I told "my" experience, not "his." Seems like after that I was not asked to do many CA or SAD parts again, and NEVER asked to be on a DA, despite my CV in the Borg and speaking ability.
Meanwhile, Brother Goober Pioneer Elder (aka TG, Wood River), was always on parts for ASSemblies. Turns out, he enjoyed spanking the monkey looking at porn and ripping off little old ladies in the ACN phone MLM scam. I ALMOST got him removed. Then he took the CO golfing and I was removed instead. LOL.
7 months later, I walked away and have never been back...12 plus years later.

I remember also being told by the DO to alter my part on stage so that it would “better reflect the needs of the circuit”, and thus be more encouraging to the brothers and sisters, blah, blah, blah.
People who knew me were puzzled at how my experience was so different from my real life, and a few even questioned me afterward. The DO had specifically asked us NOT to say that we were asked to change our parts, so how the heck were you to explain all the discrepancies??
I was so embarrassed, and couldn’t even explain properly except to say that I was “really nervous” and must have forgotten things I was supposed to say. It was really troubling to me at the time, and I had a hard time dealing with it, feeling like I was lying (well, duh! Of course I was! ☹️) and trying to justify how it all fit into Jehovah’s “theocratic arrangement” for the benefit and spiritual blessing for all, gag, blah.
My spiritual “high” of being “invited” to be on an assembly part changed to confusion and embarrassment afterward, and left me with a sense of shame that was hard to put right, despite all the earlier fancy talk, justifications, and explanations from the District Overseer.
After that I never looked at another assembly part the same way, wondering how many of those experiences were also embellished, changed beyond recognition, or outright fabricated. Because I was in so deep, this didn’t even wake me up at the time. It was Just Another Thing pushed under the rug lest it made ways for doubts and weakness and snares of Satan, Blah blah blah.
But I also never forgot it.... One of those itches you tried not to scratch....

Snakers -Brother Goober Pioneer Elder
Good one. Even my Dad who was asked to be a CO but didn't said the A$$emb£y gang were very cliquey.
Mudster - After that I never looked at another assembly part the same way,
Ain't that the truth!!

My spiritual “high” of being “invited” to be on an assembly part
That is part of the strategy in general.
I knew the WT was a cult, and that the bible is crap, but I was giving the top DC talks, elders school talks, the Memorials, Funeral, yada yada yada.
Being a great motivational speaker (though I completely morphed my talks to be about love as much as possible), kept me in longer than I should have been.
It's like Crack, you get hooked, and kept in line to do what ever the WT asks.

Ultimate Axiom
I was asked to give several experiences back in the day, but I was never asked to change or embellish any of them – looks like I was in a minority. But I was aware of many who would exaggerate almost everything. On one occasion a brother approached me and said, “so I hear you were chased down the road by a vicar the other day”. At first I had no idea what he was talking about. Here's what actually happened. A young brother and I had called on a house where a vicar lived, and after a fairly lively ten minutes we left and went to the next house. Within minutes the vicar had come out, and from the street called out to this householder not to listen to us because we were bonkers. He then went back inside and I thought no more of it.
Some people are renowned for exaggerating and they obviously know who they are. On one occasion in general conversation with a small group I made the observation that as exaggerating is designed to give a false impression, I considered it to be the same a lying. I wasn’t directing that remark to anyone in particular, but one of the sisters in this group immediately said, “are you saying I’m a liar?” I laughed inside, and thought, well if the caps fits.

I have gone so far and said it to their face that" if it is not true then it is a lie, no two ways about it, sorry to burst your bubble" and walked away.
