What a sickening letter directed towards the most vulnerable elderly JWs in Spain.
[QUOTE]: “Dear elderly brothers, please be assured how precious you are in Jehovah’s eyes, the One that will always “support” you for your integrity and loyalty.”
Translation: Neither the governing body nor the Watch Tower Society will “support” you during the coronavirus.
Or as Geoffrey Jackson would put it: Dear elderly brothers, it would be presumptuous of the governing body to “support” you for your integrity and loyalty as the Bible clearly shows that it is Jehovah the One that will always “support” you.

Yes, when the letter arrived Atlantis told me it was an attempt to remind the elderly about contributions, right at the very time they are getting their stimulus checks, and in a couple more weeks their Social Security checks.
The letter makes you sick to your stomach the way they suck-up to the elderly. The Tower never misses an opportunity to stick their hands into the pockets of the rank & file.
Yet, when an elderly JW has to go to a nursing home they are forgotten.

Yes and the Nursing homes they go to are usually run and serviced by one of Christendoms religions that take care of them.
Just like it would be presumptuous of Geoffrey Jackson to say that he believed the WT/JW`s were the only religion God was using.

That is a good point smiddy3! I will have to remember that one. If JW's really want to be "no part" of the world, then how many will refuse their stimulus check and rely on Jehovah to provide for them?
The very government they condemn is putting food in their mouth. I don't see the Tower feeding anybody.

I hate this fucking cult, but there was nothing in this letter even implying elderly people should give their money to the cult.
It doesn’t help our cause if we accuse them of things for which they are not guilty—and there’s plenty of that.
Let’s keep our eye on the ball, please.

There is not much comfort in the letter.
No direct help offered by the organization and congregation.

I/we see it all the time...an employee flattering & ingratiating himself with his employer in hopes of getting a raise or promotion in return.
Though there is no exact mention of money...'Mother' is buttering-up the elderly with this letter for among other things...their continued loyalty and in the end...their $$$!

Well, of the oldies I know well enough to hear their honest comments, they are not feeling "vigourous and fresh" as the letter puts it. Instead I hear grumbles about the Org. How they feel left behind in the techie world they have to embrace, the changed doctrines, lack of help from elders.... etc
Is this being sent to the cong? It would better sent to the old ones individually. Easily done, just get the congregation to organize it
