Yes, these went out to the congregations. The older ones have got to be stunned by all the electronic gadgets being used inside the congregations today. Nothing like what was the normal for back in the 50s, 60, or 70s, according to grandpa.
Atlantis keeps saying the Watchtower organization of his day no longer exists. What I wonder about is what techie gadgets they will use in the future.

These attempts to butter up the faithful elderly are because the religion knows when these people are gone - the JW religion is never going to see the like of them again.. Nobody supported them like this WW2 generation..and these people had a reverance for the religion more so than anybody else, IMO.
The religion is now just making its last grasping attempt and probably hopes some of these gullible people will be generous.
Your grandfather is right that this is not the religion he remembers from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. It’s like an ameoba that keeps shape shifting and has changed drastically in the last twenty years I have ‘Faded’.

Such a depressing letter. It's like they are giving the elderly their 'last rites' but religions like the Catholics only do this shortly before a person is known to be dying.
They still can't even bother to address them as Brothers and SISTERS, it doesn't take much effort.

And the GB members are especially happy for your loyalty $$$ because they get the best health and dental care they can get at no expense to them, the swimming pools, saunas, cars to travel in and air flights to travel the world are an added bonus.
Jehovah looks after his chosen ones well indeed.
If JW's really want to be "no part" of the world, then how many will refuse their stimulus check and rely on Jehovah to provide for them?
None of them. They will yap on about how "it is Gee-HO'-Vuh who provided it." Just like they flap their gums about how wonderful the governing body are to provide the letter from Gee-HO'-Vuh about how to stay healthy through the COVID-19 season. Never mind they did nothing other than cut and paste what the government already had printed several weeks earlier!
We hope to enjoy soon the rich blessings that await us under Gods Kingdom.
But right now we are enjoying the blessing from Jehovah in all the money $$$ you given us and the Watchtower Corporation which built its members base up from teaching and promoting false doctrines, coercion and lies.
