Dave, I appreciate your comments. "Minimus type" vs. "meaty type"-----that expression could be derisive, depending upon who's saying it, I guess. Your suggestion that I basically bring it up a notch, to keep trying to get to the next level, to encourage me because you know I can do it......certainly suggests to me that I'm not up to your standard. I know that you feel I could raise my level of posting. But I am not interested in writing a thesis about my ponderings. I leave that for others to do. I believe my contribution is appreciated by more than a few. Others may not like my questions or observations. Some might feel we need a balance for the board. That's why we're here. Personally, I think I'm a lot more than fluff, if you really knew me. If the argument is that from my postings, you'd have a hard time seeing that, that's ok. I see very few posters that are at a level that you might admire. They're almost all gone, right?... For the record, I like you. I believe you are a gentleman. And I do enjoy most of your posts.

Don't quote me on this but I believe it is passed on by a few "guide to being a nifty elder" coloring books and a few connect the dot drawing puzzles. Then there are the CO and DO visits where they assess the lives of every flock member in a one week long lightening round of password. It also gives them a chance to stand on the podium soap box and proclaim that every thing that is said against the great and powerful Oz is nothing more them trumped up lies produced by Satan the talking snake and the evil empire of the news media.

Then there are some elders who like to pass on their own personal narrow minded insecurities by giving you that gleaming glance of disappointment when you step out of line and make a comment that is obviously an evil and misguided attempt of coloring outside of the lines.

That's just my guess, I never made the rank of elder. I could be wrong.

Read what I wrote once again. This time, try to read it from a less defensive perspective and you may see what I was saying. I did not suggest that you change at all, just possibly expand from time to time. Expanding is not the same as changing. I said "work into" more meaty subjects, not "change to" or "elevate yourself" to. There is a difference. As long as you read what I said in a defensive mode you won't understand what I was trying to get at. If so there isn't anything I can say that will expand on that. If I did not say it in a manner where you saw or understood that, and I can understand if you did, I once again apologize. It was not meant as a put down but more of an awareness of growth and alternative possibilities that I believe you are capable of. I also said that I think people have gotten substantial insights from your threads, you must have missed that part. Min, I like you too and I think you know that, but possibly neither one of us is getting what the other is saying.

I do not have an elevated standard of posting that you may think I am asking for. That assumption has caused some of the biggest wars on this board. I don't understand what part of the word "balance" lead you to that conclusion. The only specific concept in a particular posting style I personally desired is one of balance. That is an equal offering of both fluff and intellectual substance. Since this board is not set up to cater to my own personal preferences or that of anyone else's it will continue on slipping in and out of balance just as it should given it's diversity of posters. Right now I see it as being out of balance a bit and leaning more to the fluff side. Try stepping out of where you think my head is at and read what I said.

Min and Seven.. this thread would be a lot more enjoyable to read if it didnt feel like you guys were on each other. To be honest Min, I didn't get the feeling that Seven was saying negative about you.

I have found Min to have a big heart as well as an open mind. Our discussion is going without any name calling or personal insults. If all disagreements or misunderstandings went down like the one we are having I think a lot of the wars on this board could have been avoided. That is something that I personally have learned since coming to this board. I think Min is a good guy and I know he thinks the same about me. We are working this out and I personally thank you for your input. It's great when someone like yourself can look at a conversation or misunderstanding and see the good on both sides.

I LIKE DAVE!!!!!!......Any expressions come out of discussion to further the betterment of this board. I respect Dave's opinions. I think he's very intelligent and I don't believe he's got a beef with me. All I've been saying is that "minimus type posts" is usually a slam or a subtle shot. My overall reason to post is not to talk about the weather or just "fluff". Most of my threads give some value or help to someone, so I've been told.So I guess to refer to me or my posts as "fluff" doesn't sit right with me. Farkel used to derisively say the same thing. If my posts were mostly, fluff, I wouldn't be helpful to others in my honest opinion. If I wasn't helping any lurker or fellow poster, then I'd rarely post......Let me make this point----I was not trying to make this post about me and Dave. That's happening and I apologize to you. Now, Dave....I still don't like the title of your thread. It's too confusing.

Again, I said that "many" have deemed them "minimus type" of post. I didn't say I did. I have seen that termed used several times on this board. I can see where you may take issue with that but you have to admit that it is not a term only used in the silent shadows of this board. I think your post and the subject matter have "grown" over the time you have been on the board. That is the message I have been trying to get across to you in this thread.

I know you and Doug had issues and Doug took a disliking to your subject matter and style of posting. You and Doug are very different kind of people and what happened, happened. I understood both sides of the issue and I think it went a bit too far. That's history, this is now.

Again, I think if you would have read what I said in a different perspective there wouldn't have been a misunderstanding. I took issue with your comment about why I made a thread about a subject that "we" already discussed.

I think we both made our points and we can still kick back and have a drink together with no ill will from either side. If anything, our little discussion may be seen as a good and positive way to discuss a misunderstanding without it turning into a fuckyoufest. (I haven't given a mods a word to edit in weeks, I threw this one in to see if they all still loved me)

I'll accept your problem with the thread title, Coming up with thread titles are not my forte'.Maybe next time I will form my title as a question.

I would explain that but it's not worth it at this point. I will just concede to the point you made and apologize for the comment. It looks like you did reread what I wrote. Did you happen to pick up on any of the positives?
