Right, its a good thing to debunk. But its very hard to reason out these with the JWs. My wife is one.

1 Corinthians 15 addresses imo the ressurection of the individual soul into heaven. The writer either forgot the people raised in old testament times and at the advent of Christ or he is not claiming those guys had the ressurection into incorruptibility and immortality he talks about. The new testament never claims Lazarus became immortal and heaven going when raised.

Ses breeze, I recall the Bible students /JWs reject the kjv translation of damnation in John 5. Instead they favor judgment and then has that second chance spin on what goes on in the judgment that we dont find in the Bible. In Preterist circles it is much debated what the ressurection means. Even partial Preterists argue that the ressurection in Daniel 12 refers to judgment on the covenant nation AD 30-70☺️. Almost all kinds of interpretators think Ezekiel 37 is a spiritual ressurection

Mental Gymnastics of the Watchtower at work there. Hard to not laugh at such a brief and hard understand why anyone would buy into this crap.

Good points, and thanks to Belisem for the quote. The Watchtower seems to continue their fantasy that a person can justify themselves or grow to perfection as they see it. This is directly opposite to everything the New Testament teaches.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. - Gal. 2: 16

Revelation is clear that the Great White Throne judgement is a "judgement unto damnation" because:

the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. - Rev. 20 : 12

And, since "no flesh is justified by works", there can only be one outcome at this particular judgement "after the thousand years had ended". This is the destiny of the unrighteous dead.

On the other hand, Christians who put their trust in Christ alone are guaranteed to not be condemned:

Romans 8: 1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus

Romans 5: 1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

How can the Watchtower get away with this blatant deviation from the scriptures?

The way JW's explain that in their eschatology is by saying the first death (and thus resurrection) is the natural death people have experienced. They will be resurrected in paradise, the second death is the death of God's judgement after 1000 years in paradise. If you go through 1000 years of paradise and still choose to go against God's Organization (the FDS who will then be in heaven), you will have condemned yourself to the second death and they don't believe there is a resurrection from that (although Revelation speaks about, and the JW Revelation book depicts, eternal torture).

It is also possible to go straight to the second death, that is if you actively oppose the JW organization (WTBTS) after learning "the truth" then it is possible God will judge you permanently right away. They often cite Hitler as deserving the second death, although officially the WTBTS does clarify although likely, humans do not judge, only God, Jesus and the 144,000 (aka themselves) end up being judges.

Those who physically have died and will be resurrected on earth during the Millennium will still be imperfect humans.

Ask a JW if God can create imperfection. When they say, "NO!" ask them why God will, according to them, create a resurrected person imperfect?

I've done that and it is comic relief to see them try to explain that away.

Sure you will say so, naughty you. My point was that the context of 1 Corinthians 15 is quite different to Lazarus.

On a different note, I dont think JW apply 1 Corinthians 15 to the ordinary folk, just the 144,000
