All I ever did was stick my tongue on the truck door handle when it was 0 degrees out. Ripped all the skin off and had to go on liquid diet for four weeks. Funny how you learn never to repeat certain things! That is if you're have sane.. which I guess leaves the dubbies out!

Glad everything turned out okay and the bean has been removed from your sons ear.
I remember a 5 and 7 year old cousins of mine (both boys).. They took a camera all apart and put the screws in their ears. My Aunt had to take them to get them removed at the Doctors office.
And one of them pulled the same trick with a bean and stuck it up his nose and it too sprouted before they realized what was going on.
Kids sometimes do the darndest thing.

I have a nephew that stuck a sunflower seed up his nose when he was about 4.
My sister took him to the doctor, and after about 30 minutes the doctor was everso carefully pulling it out when.....SNIFF!!! up the nasal passage it went again.
My sister said she has never seen an angrier look than what was on that doctors face....another 15 minutes later and it was out hahah

the receptionist at the ENT's office gave a hearty laugh and said they had a boy in yesterday with the same problem
LOL omg two kids put beans in their ears within a day of eachother? that is too funny!!!!!!
when my sister was little she stuck a pearl up her nose and had to go to the doctor's office to get it out. her doctor called her "the girl with the pearl" for years after that :-P also, she stuck her head in between the bars of the alligator cage at the zoo once, but she had very big ears and she couldn't fit her head back out!!! it was so funny, it took forever to get her extracted :-P
