Thanks LMR, Loved your notes and your comments. Hope it eases the boredom when you think of the enjoyment you are giving to us. I would like to add a few comments of my own as well

We may have been tired when we got here, but the next 3 days will be like a vitamin shot---energizing us for activity when we get home.

my thoughts 'exhausting us into inactivity when we get home'.

Maintain spiritual cleaness both morally and doctrinally. Beware of apostates!

my thoughts, yes beware, you could find out the truth

Satan takes more delight in making JWs his victims that anyone else! What is he looking for? Attitudes and heart conditions make us his targets.

That is scary. Satan never used to be able to read our thoughts.

    LMR,

Thanks for the info, it's useful to know what it is that will cause my JW mum to go all holy and disapproving about this year.

    Englishman.

The JW religion is simply fanaticism masquerading beneath a cloak of reasoned logic.

Thanks LMR very much for the notes.

Mrs Oz and I enjoyed reading them and you can be sure we were suitably spiritually 'refreshed'

We're looking forward to hearing details of the Saturday program, especially the symposium on Education. Can't wait! Do you think you can stand it?

Perhaps we can nominate you for this year's Non-Apostate Bravery Award.

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

Hey LMR . . . Thanks for the post. I wouldn’t mind hearing more from your notes, because in this instance, your pain (of having to sit through it) is our gain.

Man, I hated those things. For years I always had a job of some sort at DC’s that keep me occupied and able to tune out the background noise (ie: program). Then suddenly I wasn’t given an assignment and was forced to sit chained to my chair, painting on my “convention face” and pretending to be conscious while waves of inanities washed over me. . . aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh! Better you then me, buddy.

You mentioned Ted Jaracz. Does he still sound like a barking dog when giving talks? Listening to him always generated a mental image of a snarling Doberman in my mind. What a turn off. During the last talk I heard by him I got up and walked out. If he’s an example of love, I don’t want any!

So, how about something really interesting - where did you go for lunch?

    Hello Lostmyreligion,

Thanks for taking your time to share
the lastest "news " about the D.C. 2001!

From what you write there is not much change.

    To Farkel:

“Over the last few years several have commented that the convention organizers are frustrated because they can't find any local experiences with local residents to share at the assemblies. It's a real problem and especially for Circuit Assemblies: twenty congregations, zero experiences worth relating at an assembly. Why doesn't the WTS get a clue and realize that their tactics and recruitment methods are NOT working. Same is true with baptisms. Many circuit assemblies have only one, two or even no baptisms these days.”

True points. It really what happens in this part of Europe!
I also wonder why they don't get the message!

    hello again, LMR,

just an idea: i copied everyone of your notes (minus your provocative
insights) to every one in my email address book. maybe a light will
go on in the heads of my dub friends and family when/if they hear
the exact same experiences at their assembly. who knows...
it might lead to an interesting conversation. thanks.

    peace,

    Lost,

Thank you so much for sharing your notes with us....I've been away awhile...haven't been to a DC in 4 years, I think...but you brought it all rushing back to me!! And brought up such a welling of gratitude that I DONT HAVE TO GO THROUGH IT ANYMORE!!!!! Yay! I'm free, I'm free....come and dance with me!! hehe...sorry, got a bit carried away...

    Moxy,
"Hey, alright. i got $100 bonus. Id thank you Jehovah, but this doesnt sound like you..."

I laughed so hard at that, god thats a great quote....and how true. All the time I was a dub, I never questioned why we had to struggle so hard, why money was so tight, why we were supposed to give up our lives for the mind-numbing boredom of "watchtower world"....and now I remember all of those experiences where people (usually pioneers, never rank and file folks)got their financial needs met "to the dollar"...guess that guru-god of theirs IS an exact god, eh?

BTW...memories of DCs from my teens...I was a bit of a gawky girl, EVERY damn summer, I would fall down the stairs at the convention at least once....ahhh, the joy of childhood memories....(Im still in therapy dealing with the humiliation )

Thanks again Lost....keep em coming please

    Hello Loki

I do find myself in complete agreement with
    your remark :

”. These days this seems, in my own opinion, to be a way of warding off questions about the way things are being operated in the WTS. That way they can say what they like and the “sheep” follow trustingly. "

    Thanks, agape J.C. MacHislopp
