This from a man who claims to have read a great deal of Harris' work. Did you entirely miss the book he co-authored with Maajid Nawaz?
Islam is essentially evil. Individual Muslims who accept the humanist principles of freedom and democracy do so despite their religion.
How did this thread divert to what Harris said about Muslims radical or not ?.
This thread is supposed to be about what he had to say about Trump and his win to the White House .
Sam Harris has denounced Trump over and over again in recent months. His criticism of Trump has been devastating and unrelenting. But on the one single issue of an awareness of the existential threat posed by Islam he has credited Trump for being more alert and honest than Clinton.
The trouble with Harris is when he attempts to extend and smear Muslims in general - not sure if he does this. If someone posted a podcast of Harris saying this I'd believe this assertion.
and paint the whole religion as essentially evil - this may or may not be his opinion and he's entitled to it. He certainly criticises Islam and why not? If he said the above, I'd disagree - IMO Islam isn't 100% evil but it does have very serious issues.
Back on topic, Harris has made several podcasts that totally rip Trump to shreds - his flaws as a presidential candidate, his flaws as a human being. Harris actually supported Hillary as the lesser of the two evils kinda thing.
rejecting Donald Trump should be a litmus test and Douglas Murray, Gad Saad and (sadly) Slavoj Zizek failed miserably ... bye bye Murray - so, you dismiss everything Murray has to say on a variety of topics because he didn't openly reject Trump? Do you do the same for Maajid Nawaz?!
