Thinking of the kids at Christmas

My whole family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents (all but one aunt and her family) became JW's about the same time in 1950. My grandma was just the best ever. She continued to have the big holiday dinners, on Thanksgiving and Christmas, with all her special treats. We just called them a get together. No lights or tree or presents, but the family was still altogether, with the great food. I always loved her fruitcakes and to this day, I love fruitcake. She made the best Christmas cookies too, and I can't seem to duplicate them, and I try...................boy, how I try.

Yesterday I made divinity, and today I am making fudge (2 kinds). I have my own recipes, but they still taste like grandma's. She always had tons of it on plates around the room during the season. I miss her................she died in 1974 at age 89. If she were alive now she would be 118. I learned how to be a grandma from her.

Sorry Mulan.I just cant understand that...Your Grand mother was a JW yet did all that? I have a nephew who was disfellowshipped because he to did all that on Christmas. They said he was just "covering over" I am GLAD she did it for you.But I bet your family was "In cahoots" with the BIG SHOTS in the cult-so they overlooked her to me now>KINDNESS> to me as a JW >>>going along with Babylon the great!!!Sorry if this offends. but I am shocked....
