Just for fun, I typed in 'double edge flip flop" and it showed 19,400 results.

GWB 'revisited' got a total of 8,940 results; Wesley Clark 3,590.

hmmmm, maybe I should run for office... I think I would make a good politician .

I know far more about Wes Clark than you do Double Edge, and I've yet to see anything that would make a reasonable person say he is prone to "flipflops". If you're thinking of a singular comment on the congressional resolution authorizing force in Iraq, then I think you have a really dumbass understanding of both what that statement encompassed, and what constitutes someone who is to be labled a "flip-flopper". The nice thing about Wes Clark on that issue is that he wrote a book, wrote editorials, and testified before congress on that particular issue in the past couple of years, so his consistant thoughts are a matter of public record for anyone who gives a damn about accuracy.

whatever 'other' reason would someone want to be a politician for nowdays.

Do you have a better way to run a democracy, Double Edge?

    I think I would make a good politician .
I think we've had enough of your type.

    Six...

Why are you so angry at me.

    Well good for you.

My comment had nothing to do about running a democracy and everything to do about how hard it is to be running for office PERIOD.

    I think I would make a good politician .

And what "type" would that be SIX. Did you READ what that "light" hearted response was in reference to? It was a tongue-in-cheek jab at a previous "light hearted" post between me and lauralisa.... there is absolutely nothing for you to get your shorts in a wedge. scheesch.... lighten up.... we get it... YOU LOVE WES CLARK for President.

You called someone a "flip-flopper" and a "phoney". I happen to know that it's a sleazy lie. If you hadn't noticed, whilst we while away at JW issues which won't affect the world at large one whit more now that we're out of the JW's than it did when we were in the JW's, the world is affected greatly by the personalities of it's leaders. You may think that smearing people with lies simply because they aren't in the party you've picked as your home-team-to-root-for is just part of the "game", but I don't. I have a twelve year old daughter. I can't afford to see this as a game to be conceded to the most persistant, sneakiest, and loudest liar.

You called someone a "flip-flopper" and a "phoney".

What are you, 8-years-old? Nerny, Nerny,.... well "you called someone..." , in case you haven't heard the word, it's called an OPINION. I wasn't too crazy with Wes's CNN commentary during the first days of the Iraq War. So he's not my favorite politician, so what - others, including yourself have differing opinions based on your experiences, I'm not going to begrudge you that.

You may think that smearing people with lies simply because they aren't in the party you've picked as your home-team-to-root-for is just part of the "game", but I don't.

CALM DOWN. Again, I wasn't smearing.... it was an OPINION based on several interviews and debates that Wes has been a part of. And by the way, I'm neither registered Democrat or Republican - I haven't been for a few years because the the nastyness of the political debate... I'm registered Independent and I vote for the person and their views, NOT the party and their Lobbyists. Also, I didn't know we were in any type of GAME. Are we? Is that why you post political items, so we can play a game, or would you rather everyone just agree with your opinion?

I have a twelve year old daughter. I can't afford to see this as a game to be conceded to the most persistant, sneakiest, and loudest liar.
Well, finally we agree on something, although we don't agree on who that person is. Then again, why is this any different than any other election where there are many points of view?

    it's called an OPINION.

Which you are entitled to. But while it may happen to be your opinion, that doesn't make it any less of a lie and a sleazy unwarranted smear. I'm entitled, even obligated, to point that out. After all, people would be crazy to vote for a phoney flip-flopper, hated by most of his subordinates.

Ok.... let me clarify my original statement

    Flip-Flopper

Since he announced in September he has made, on the record, contradictory statements. Where is the lie, and where is the smear? Because of the contradiction:

    personally I think he's a phoney.

"Phoney" as in "not genuine in what he says" as a politician. Some of that, I believe, is due to his being new in the political arena and having to be brought up to speed, because political campaigns are many things, including tactics. Politically, he's a rookie (and that in itself isn't bad, heck, I just voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger). Otherwise, I have the utmost respect for him for his service to our country.

hated by most of his subordinates.

Your exaggeration - I never said he was 'hated' by 'most' of his subordinates.

By the way, since he's left the military his income is in the million plus category. Politics can be a VERY lucrative career move. (and I'm NOT suggesting that he's done anything shady .... so are most of the other high profile politicals).
